Talk: The Walking Dead: November 2011

In a Zombie Apocalypse, which character would you most aspire to be like and why?

For me, it would be Andrea. She has really found herself and she's learned what she is capable of. She's a great shot and takes what she wants... (even in a car, ahem). She's definitely my hero. :)

The Mystery of the Purloined Python

Anyone recall that Otis is the one who borrowed Rick's 357 Magnum Python with him when he and Shane went to the geek-overrun FEMA site to get medical equipment for wounded Carl?

No one ever mentioned how the Python came back if Otis was zombie-swarmed and Shane didn't explain it either.

That gun is the same one that Rick shot Sophia with.

Everyone needs to get on the Shane Train!

Enough of this being nice to the zombies crap. Is Shane the only one with any sense? Shane may be cocky, hot-headed and a loose cannon, but he's been right 95% of the time. Not to mention, he's number one in camp until Rick comes back, hence a demotion, then Lori cuts him off completely, and it wasn't like he didn't try to get Rick the hell out of the hospital. And can Jon Bernthal's Shane please get an action figure, as with the rest of the group? Why just 2? When Rick told Shane that Lori was pregnant, omg, I felt the pain, especially when he said Congratulations and Rick firmly said "Thank You". How can you not feel a wee bit sorry for the guy. I mean, Lori thought Shane was good enough to grab onto and keep her safe when the world went to S***?

Carl Grimes and the Series Finale

Kirkman has stated that the comic book may go on indefinitely. I'm hoping the series will last at least 8 seasons. Chandler Riggs will be twenty by then. Reading the comic and seeing the pitch-perfect acting of Chandler Riggs, in my opinion, Carl is going to be the sole survivor- the last man standing.

In the series finale, Carl and Rick are the only ones left. Rick dies, through sheer will he lasted long enough to make sure Carl survived to adulthood- similar to Viggo Mortenson in "The Road." Carl buries Rick, now grown, he puts on Rick's trooper uniform. This being the series finale, there will be nods to the past. Carl finds a horse on an abandoned farm, he saddles the horse preparing to leave. The horse bristles, Carl turns to see a Walker slowly staggering towards him- the Walker is a young girl dressed nearly identical to Sophia the last time he saw her. Carl is calm, he never had the chance to say goodbye all those years ago, he says "You would've loved Hershel's farm"-we see scenes of the brief time he spent with Sophia-"...I never got to say goodbye,"- the Walker is nearly within reach- Carl pulls out Rick's colt and says "I'm sorry this happened to you"- exactly like Rick to the Bicycle Zombie in the first episode- and shoots her in the head. The final scene is Carl on the horse headed west- he's going to the Grand Canyon, where Rick and Lori promised they'd take him and Sophia.
I've always felt the series finale should be up to the viewer's imagination. Will Carl be the man his father was and retain his humanity or the brutal survivor Lori feared he may eventually become?

Also don't want Rick "is in Purgatory" like Jack in the finale of "LOST."
Or even more off the wall- Rick never woke up from his coma and the whole "Walking Dead" universe is in his mind.

My finale with Carl is a little melancholy but hopeful- riding off on a horse just like Rick, bringing the series full circle.

Death to Shane! i can;t stand him!

Somebody please shoot Shane. I am furious and sickened by him in the last episode. I agree that Shane must go. I can't stand him. He should have been stopped so many times. He was killed a long time ago in the comics. Hopefully, the creators had him go totally bezerk because they are going to have in killed and want to make sure no one misses him. I want to see Hershel react. He should kill Shane in his sleep. Being dead (or undead) is better than being like Shane. He is pretty much dead already.

Where to go

It's time for the group to move on.Keeping walkers out is not as interesting as where do we go now.

If I had to choose.....

I know it would not be Shane because I wouldnt want to end up like Otis.....lol

next season i have an idea

What if lori had a miscarriage near the end, didn’t know it, and then gave birth to a zombie baby.

Shane is a Cancer and must go

Shane is a cancer to the whole group.
1. He cannot be trusted. Will say and do anything that benefits his needs/wants
2. Does not have the groups interest at heart. Only his own interest.
3. He's a pathological liar.
4. He's an egomaniac.
5. He's a selfish homewrecker.
He is no good in a group setting where trust and cooperation are essential to the groups survival. He was willing to sacrifice the groups relative safety on the herschel farm so he could make a powergrab and try to win back Lori in the process.
Shane is trash and needs to either leave the group, get shot or become zombie food.

show returns when?

the posting 2011, but I think you meant 2012.

Shane..

I'm having trouble deciding on how I feel about Shane. In the comic I'm glad he died the way he did. In the show though I hate him a lot but respect him and don;t want him to go at the same time. He's a dick and should get shot, but he's more prepared for this than anyone else. he can let go of emotional ties, he's good with a gun, and does what he needs to do to protect the ones he cares about. but again he's a total ass. bjeiweka

Timeline Guesstimate for TWD TV series

Just because I had some time and wanted to get to the bottom of the Timeline thing, I worked out a timeline. Two assumptions were made while making this.
1. Time line based on Jenner's Video Log as he mentioned after he contaminated the sample and got drunk, made on Day 257. (Wildfire declared on day 194 and 63 days after it went global, totaling 257 days. 2. I am making the assumption that Rick has been in a coma for approximately one month, starting on Day 221 (33 days of coma), making it day 30 after Wildfire went global. Rick wakes up day 254.

194-->Wildfire
194+63-->Global
Day 257-->Starting day based on Jenner mentioning that it has been 194 days since Wildfire plus 63 days since it went Global, putting his video log at day 257, which is shortly before he opens the shutters at the CDC to let in Camp.
Day 221-->Rick gets shot and enters coma. Wildfire has been global for approximately 30 to 31 days. Based on novel information and basic medical consensus, Rick is in a coma for approximately 33 days (1 and a few days).
Day 254-->Rick awakens from Coma and leaves hospital. Stays overnight w/ Morgan and Duane. Stays overnight at Morgan and Duane
Day 255-->Next day to police station. Rick en route to Atlanta, and finds camp during late afternoon. Sleeps w/ Lori, possibly make baby.
Day 256-->Rick returns to Atlanta for guns and Merle. Returns to camp during Walker attack
Day 257-->Buries bodies, discovers Jim's bite. Travels to CDC, Jenner's video log commenting on tomorrow he is going to kill self. Camp shows up on doorstep shortly after Jenner logs off for the evening and drinks the night away.
Day 258-->Fecal matter hits the oscillating unit at CDC, goes all explode-y in early to mid-afternoon. Highway graveyard, herd, and Sophia is lost, w/ search going on during Afternoon
Day 259-->First day of Sophia search, Carl shot by Otis. Otis may have just herded Zombie Sophia to Barn previous to shooting. Shane & Otis go to town, sacrifices Otis in PM. Returns to farm late evening, after 10p.
Day 260-->Memorial service for Otis in AM, pee test for Lori in PM. Second day Sophia missing
Day 261-->Daryl's solo search for Sophia & finds doll in river. B/cms injured and Returns to camp and shot by Andrea in belief he was a Walker. Glenn finds Walker squatters during Booty Call from Maggie. Third day Sophia missing.
Day 262-->Third day of Sophia search, Glenn & Maggie get attacked in town, Lori tells Rick she is preggers. Fourth day Sophia missing.
Day 263-->Glenn tells Group walkers in barn, Shane finds out he's is a possible daddy, all Hell breaks loose as. Shane goes apesnot and proves Walkers are not "sick people" to Farm Folk. Massacre ensues, and Sophia emerges from Barn, approximately five to six (5-6) days from CDC explosion.

webisodes....

has anyone watched them ? If so what did you think?

Open Thread

I did not see Sophia coming out of the barn! I've been able to guess correctly about other things, but not that! And I want to say, Shane is a little boy who has to break things when he doesn't get his way. HE is becoming a danger to everyone else. Will this interfere with the feelings I see blooming between Daryl and a certain widow? Is he and Dale going to finally come to a confrontation? Or will it be him and Rick? So many possibilities!!!

hmmm?

I think Hershel's new name should be Hershey. Despite the fact that he knew everyone was looking for sophia, he kept telling rick that once his boy gets better, they would have to leave the farm. He knew there was a little girl walker recently found nearby and kept the wild goose chase going. that's just a pile of manure.makes you wonder...how many more secrets is he keeping?

Genius of Sophia's Death

I've seen a lot of people giving it flack, but I personally think it's GENIUS! Here is Hershel, giving everybody hell about how these walkers are people and how they should be treated as such. We probably all know that Rick's group all believes otherwise, even if Rick would rather just not create confrontation by following Hershel's rules. They want these walkers dead, whether they say it or not. So they slaughter all these walkers without hesitation. Then, out of nowhere, comes a walking slap-in-the-face in the form of Zombie Sophia. Suddenly, everybody sees a human that they don't want to kill. Even after exterminating over a dozen, this one makes them lower their guns. This is yet another reminder to the group that NO ONE is safe from the infection, not even kids who tend to live in their own little world. I loved it. I was floored. My jaw literally dropped when Sophia walked out of that barn. So you all may have hated it, but I give props to the writers. That was insane, and will DEFINITELY bring me back for the second half of Season 2.

BRING SOPHIA BACK.....

Ok I have a great idea...have Carol start having dreams about Sophia and what she went through in the forest and how she got turned to a walker and give Carol some comfort knowing that Sophia is now at peace let Sophia help the group in situations through the dreams of her mother. She is a great actress and she can still be part of the group..in her own way. What do you all think?

Zombies

Has anyone else noticed that there are no plus-size zombies on the Walking dead?

Hello

Hello

Rv

The most beat up, abused old piece of junk is the only RV they have come across???? Traveling along the highways of America you can always see the Rv dealers lots from the road, surly there are ones to be found that are out of gas and ready to roll. ALSO searching for gas, don't uses a siphon, puncher the bottom of the tank and catch it in a pan.

It's The Happy Birthday BdSaint Wishes Thread!!!

HEY FELLOW REGS!!!! Our own Bdsaint is celebrating her birthday on 11/29, so let's post some well wishes here for her to read through!

Saint, my fellow Darylholic, you are the sh*t. LOVE your posts, our discussions, obsessions, picture/video sharing, all of it. Hope you have a GREAT day girl!

Time Line

What is the time line of the show? How much time has passed since the outbreak started and where the story is today, it seems 6 to 9 months but it's hard to tell.

otis

how many people want to see otis return to see him make a run at shane

1st zombies ?

What happened in the very beginning that started makin people turn into zombies ? I don't recall that being explained

Where can I get Shane's "Police" hat?

I love the blue police hat shane wears in Chupacabra. I believe he wore it in some other episodes as well- it has a mesh back and a patch with the word "police" written on the front. Does anyone know where I can get a hat just like it?

What did Shane mean? Ep.7 Season 2

"....even if its yours, its not going to be yours, its never going to be yours and there is nothing you can do to change that." and Shane said "I don't need to." - What do you think Shane ment by saying that?

Ep. 7 Season 2 Walking Dead

Midseason Finale Gun Mania

The Midseason Finale was awesome! I just wonder, won't all that gun fire bring more zombies to the farm? All this time they keep talking about not using guns so the zombies won't be heard and this episode they acted like they were some gunslinging crazed group. Won't zombies from other farms nearby stop in now?

I know a Great Prison the Walking Dead could use for free

Hardin MT built a mid max prison that never got used because it lacked state approval so it is empty...has a fence, in a rural area with a prision that is looks liek the one in the comic...they are desperate for anybody to use it ...plus no actual prisoners to deal with

Character Rating

Who are your top fice characters?

Hershel knows something?

does anyone else think its a little strange that Hershel had Sofia in the barn too? maybe he knew something and didnt want Rick's group to find out

Sophie was bit RECENTLY.

Sohpie is a recent Walker addition to the barn. She has to be because Glenn or Dale would have noticed her there the previous day. If Herschel didn't know about the girl being their then one off the others (the son?, Otis's wife?) brought her in. In the preview, Herschel suggests that Otis put her in there before he died. What a crock! The fact that her doll was found in a different area and the fact that they found her suspected hiding corner in the abandoned house (tin of sardines being recently eaten) suggests that she was alive and hiding for a number of days before being bit.

The ONLY other possible explanation -- during the night, while still alive, she found the barn at the farm and somehow squeezed in between some boards and got inside. Then she was surprised by the walkers and bit (but not eaten!)

Are Shane and Merle cut from the same cloth?

I'd like to see what happens when these two cross paths!

Season 2 so far...

I read a really good article about the mid-season finale:

http://tvrecaps.ew.com/recap/walking-dead-finale-sophia/

Before the recap, the author talks about two types of shows. Realistic vs Fantastical.

I think a lot of people have been yearning for the latter, which largely characterized season 1. Lots of action, cliffhangers, and the characters put in exaggerated situations (like the hostage taking.)

Season 2 has been more about character development and showing how the group interacts with each other, the Sophia story and farmhouse merely serving as a backdrop.

I see the merits of both, and I think that in order for the show to thrive long term, a mix of both needs to be found.

The writers are like chemists right now, trying to find the right blend. They don't always get it perfect, but there is method to the madness.

I have actually enjoyed this season so far, despite the lack of action. Shane has really come into his own, and provided some great moments, the best of which has to be the sacrifice of Otis. Daryl has grown into a fan favorite, and many of the peripheral characters have had a chance to emerge out of the shadows.

The Sophia story may have dragged a bit, but the conclusion of it was excellent. To me it signals another shift from the slower plot development to some higher octane stuff in the second half.

I really believe that this show needs to have elements of both styles. Too much action and exaggerated drama, and it will cease to be believable. Too much focus on the banality of everyday existence (relationships, beliefs) and it runs the risk of being boring.

I am hooked, and can't forsee a situation where I won't be watching. I can accept some slower moments if they continue to payoff like the midseason finale did.

I Hope The Wait Will Not Be Too Long!

I think they should have kept on going with the series rather break it into half and start it up again come next year! The sneak previews have already reveled enough to me as to what will occur as far as the next episode will be then! I wonder if the next ones are all ready completed or they are still filming the rest of them right now?

Uneducated and Dim-witted writers

Sophie isnt supposed to die, yet Hollywood once again f'ed up a great story with their bullsh!t. Do they have any idea what the original story is? Shane who should be dead by now isnt and yet one of the ONLY characters to make it from the first group is dead WTH? I tire of this crap of supposely professional writers making a mockery of wonderful stories and twisting them. Cmon really? Do they even know what they are doing? Because of this crap, Im boycotting this show. Although one person not watching wont do anything, at lest i will not be force fed this Sh!t anymore. The writers of this show should be ashamed of their selves and if there was a ZA, i would feed all the writers to the walkers alive; But the zombies would throw-up due to the fact the writers are soulless and taste like @ss!!!!!!

Sophia

Any chance of a flashback that details how she became trapped in barn?

Darrel and Shane

First off I have always disliked Shane he is beyond sneaky, lied to Laurie about Rick. He is a major loose canon. Darrel on the other hand may have had an overly redneck brother who was a major jerk. However when it comes to weather I would want to be stuck facing zombies or anything else with one of those men, I would rather be with Darrel. He is more compassionate and empathetic where Shane is out for shane and I think he has been licking one too many bullets.

what if she didn't die from a Walker bite?

Maybe everyone is infected with the virus and it is dormant. If Sophia slipped down the river bank like Darryl broke her neck and the virus reanimated her. That could also be what was whispered to Rick at the CDC.

Lazy writers.

I hope George Romero gets royalties from AMC. This whole storyline is a ripoff of Survival of the Dead. Barn full of zombies, Leader of the clan not killing dead relatives, Island with no way for new zombies to get to it. Show deserves better.

The Walking Dead

I felt so hurt after seeing Sophia. I was for sure she was coming back alive. I wished she did come back alive. I feel so bad for carol, cause that was all she had left. I have 3 kids and couldn't imageing the pain of put a bullet in there head's.

about killing kids..........

I think the writers not being afraid to kill anyone is pretty brave

Is the farm now vulnerable?

I'm wondering if the farm comes under attack by walkers now that the dinner bell rang with all the shooting. It seems there are stragglers here and there in the surrounding area and now may concentrate on the "safe haven."

The Walking Dead Fanclub

This show has a great fan website at http://www.thewalkingdeadfanclub.com

Who would sleep in tents during a zombie apocalypse??

I'm addicted to the show...but constantly have to say, "what the hell" while watching it. Out of the 100 absolutely retarded things that these "survivors" do, sleeping in tents has to be the most unrealistic, idiotic thing ever. At the very least...THE VERY LEAST...any group of people would all pile up in the RV every night and sleep. Hell, maybe even...I dunno, slap a few 2x4's over the windows on it one day while your sitting around doing nothing. Oh well...maybe in episode 208

walking dead

i think dale and that little girls mom may hook up .

Loris baby... Is it Rick or Shane?

I can be Shanes baby gott the tape and the muscels don't you think??

Previous Episodes

I started watching this season and was trying to catch up on dvd, were there only 6 episodes in season 1

midseason break

Why, why, why do I have to wait for the next episode?

What did Shane mean?

In this episode what do you think Shane means about what he said when Lori told him that the baby will never be his even if it is? I have a few ideas myself on what he means an will do but what do you think?

Time for Dale to go

Anyone as tired as I am about the meddlin' dale and his constant Jiminy Cricket whining?

What is going to happen now?

I am wondering where things are going to go now. Will Shane end up killing people and taking over? Part of me likes the way Shane takes charge of the situation, and I hate to say it, but at times one has to be brutal to survive, but at the same time, I love the way Rick has a sense of honor. It seems that he wants to do what he feels is the right thing. I have chills of anticipation, and I have to wait until February? ACK!

Zombie School?

I flipped when the creators mentioned this on talking dead. How does one become involved in zombie school?

how do you ask a question on tv

Your Post

will the guns be herd

Will the gun fire of tonight attract more walking dead to the farm? Did the owner finally get the idea that they are already dead?

Comic Following?

So first I love the show. However I also enjoy the comics. I am curious now that you have seriously gone away from the comics are you going to be still loosely following some of the story from the comics? Shane is supposed to be dead by this part in the comics and Sophia is alive much further into the comics. I know you have people that are not in the comics at all but they add to the story line. Just Curious! Love the Show and keep up the good work My son and I are fans as long as you keep making episodes.

Sophia-I didn't see that coming.

I was shocked that Sophia was in the barn, and I thought that scene was shocking and sad, but fantastic as well. This show is so good!

job

how do you get a job as a walker or surviver?

Rick's Coma

How long was it from the time the zombies started until Rick came out of his coma?

zombie

how long can a zombie live? will it decompose after so long?

Petition for the rest of season 2.

Maybe if enough people comment to this post, we can see the rest of season 2, before February.

Dale against Andrea...

Am I the only one on Dale's side?

Music on the show

I love the music thats in the show, does anyone know if they plan to release the score on cd or audio download.

Carl

In tonights episode Carl is a carbon copy of his father

Rick's Chicks & Dixon's Vixen's Chat ;)

How about that smooth-talker Daryl? Haha!

SDCC walking dead season 2 trailer scenes missing so far ?

theres scenes from the sdcc trailer for season 2 showing shane with full hair that are missing in the first half of season 2 so far. like theres one part where shane, rick, glenn, dale and daryl are facing off against some zombies in whats look to be like a wrecked warehouse. and then ricks all like "to hell with the noise" and they start shooting the walkers down. so does anybody know if these scenes were cut out or something ? because those scenes were pretty awesome.

That's it. So let's see how funny we can make this!

Is it possible Rick is still in a coma at the hospital dreaming this whole nightmare up. Or that he perhaps died from the gunshot and this is his Hell.....

Biggest disapointment ever

I had never before looked more forward to a show like I did for season 2 episode one. What happened to the show. They have almost lost me this show is so weak now. You can all yap that it is about character growth but I do not care. Get on with it already. Oh ya who cares about sophia let her rot.

Midseason Finale

What exactly is a midseason Finale? I'm just getting warmed up on this second season and it's over?

What Jenner whispered to Rick my thoughts

You and I are immune to the disease we will never reanimate. I could not make a cure with my own blood to save my wife or anyone else no matter what I tried.

the game

im wondering has anyone checked out the board game for the walking dead yet? just wondering if anyone had a comment

BLACK PEOPLE FROM EPISODE 1 SEASON 1

Ok, I have been wondering about this for so long.... Are they ever coming back? they ended on them with a cliffhanger so I'm getting kinda pissed about whether or not they are coming back. Anyone have any ideas?

Fort Benning

Waiting for the show to come here. Obviously all the 3rd ID tools and the rest of the legs will have died off during the zombpocalypse; but Battalion will be kicking ass from within the brown fence.

When are more episodes going to show up on Netflix?

Netflix is what started me on this show, and every Sunday I'm at work during the air time, so I depend on Netflix to fulfill my needs, but they only have 6 episodes from the first season. I;m wanting to know if I have to wait for the end of the 2nd season before those episodes start showing up. I'm getting annoyed that I'm missing out on so much.

Where would you go in the case of a ZA?

I was wondering where anyone would go if a ZA happened? It might have been covered in an earlier post but I thought I might bring it up since Rick is so serious about staying at the farm because he considers it safe from the WD.

Zombie Casting?

My family and I would like to to be zombies on The Walking Dead... How can we audition? We are only 3 hours from Atlanta.

Andrea needs to be killed off

Andrea has beocome the most annoying character on the show. Last season she was a good human being and was able to take care of herself. Now she is constantly whining about losing "her choice" to die at the CDC and is jsut a pain in the ass.
she is trying too hard to be tough and a bad ass and needs to die.
she isnt the only boring aspect of season 2
i mean- i thought this was a zombie series.. not a typical drama.

the boy shouldve died, they should move on from searching for sophia.. and go try to do something besides sit around.

great episode:
lots of zombies
andrea dies

before everyone stops watching

Shane look just like Mr. Warwick from The Graveyard Shift

Anyone else think so? these two characters look so much alike and even act the same.

Daughter or Daughter's that is the Question.

Hershel said he lost his wife and step son but thankfully he still had his Daughter’s plural. At least that is what I heard him say. We know Maggie is his daughter but the teenagers are not related they are only in his care and Otis was never referred to as more than a good friend and farm hand the other woman was introduced as Otis’s wife. I am horrible with names and the farm crew are not listed as cast.
My son brought this up with as adamant as the Farm family are about keeping their own locked up in the barn you would think someone would go look for Otis and bring his remains back maybe finding the hair in his hand or the gun shot wound if there is anything left of his leg that is. I thought for a minute that was Otis in the well but the way the hungry walkers went after him I doubt there would be that much of him left.
We all realize that going after Otis is a lost cause but since they seem to want to keep all the friends and family in the barn it only makes since that they would make an effort at least.

good to see it

I'm glad Shane finally hooked up with Andrea, they deserve each other and frankly i was getting tired of Shane forehead bumping with Rick like he wanted to give him a tonsil swab. it got really old. I think there needs to be an episode where Shane depends on Dale for a rescue. yeah, Shane's a butt-head.

BLIND ITEM: Cast member to leave TWD?

Just read this blind item. Any ideas to whom they might be referring to?

-------begin copypasta---------

How’s your vision today? Good? Good, ’cause you’re gonna wanna be 20/20 or better for today’s Blind Item. It concerns one of the stars of AMC’s The Walking Dead and their desire to… well, walk.

The backstage drama all started when series creator Frank Darabont was ousted. A whole lotta people were upset, you’ll recall, and this one person, so much so that he/she asked to be released from his/her contract. But, according to my moles, a funny thing happened between the time the request was made and when it was potentially granted.

A change of heart.

Now this member of the ensemble wants to stay. But it may be too late. (Even my sources don’t know for sure at this point whether the character is going to be written off, although one insider insists he/she ultimately got their wish.)

Season 2 Episodes

I have been looking everywhere for the Season 2 full episodes and can't find them. Any ideas on where I might look?

Did Lauren Cohan play a walker in the episode 1?

I was watching the first episode again and one of the walkers going after Rick under the tank looked like Lauren Cohan.

"Pretty Much Dead Already" Spoiler/Foiler Discussion/Supposition

Just so there's an area for it to be discussed, but not put in the general epi discussion thread so those that don't want to be spoiled/foiled aren't...

"Episode 7: "Pretty Much Dead Already"

Episode opens with Glenn revealing the presence of the walkers to the rest of the group, who promptly proceed to freak out. Maggie becomes angry with Glenn for not keeping the secret and ruins his hat in retribution. Dale gives Glenn his trademark bucket hat as a replacement. Maggie later makes a plea to Hershel for the group to stay. She and Glenn also have an argument about the walkers, after which they eventually admit their feelings, kiss and make up.

Rick and Hershel argue, with Hershel demanding the group leave within a week. Rick uses the my-wife-is-pregnant card, but Hershel’s not persuaded. Shane also wants the group to get the hell out of there because of the walkers in the barn, but Rick uses the same excuse to cool him down. However, Shane then becomes convinced that Lori’s baby is his.

Dale takes off with Shane’s guns to hide them in the swamp. Shane tracks him down and demands he give the guns back. Dale points his rifle at him and threatens to shoot. However, he backs down at the last moment, since he has no wish to become like Shane: he reveals that he knows Shane shot Otis and lied about what really happened. Shane heads back to the farm with the guns.

Hershel has Rick help him and Jimmy try to fish some walkers out of a nearby pit of quicksand and lead them into the barn with snare poles. He says the group can stay on the farm if they agree not to kill the walkers. They arrive at the farm about the same time Shane emerges from the swamp and hands out guns to other members of the group…

Shane sees the snared walkers and goes berserk. He yells at Rick and Hershel as they guide the walkers towards the barn, with the rest of the group and people in the farm looking on. He pulls his sidearm and unloads it in the chest of one of the walkers, demanding to know “Could someone who’s alive just take that? Why is it still coming?” Hershel has no answer.

He finishes off the walker with a headshot, grabs a nearby pickaxe and breaks open the barn door. Walkers pour out, T-Dog, Daryl, Shane, Glenn, and Andrea form a line and open fire. Once the dust clears, one more walker emerges. Sophia. Rick finally steps up next to the others, pulls his six-shooter and kills Sophia with a shot to the head. End episode."

Sophia Spoiler Phony?

Hi - - there has been a photo of Sophia that could be a spoiler for Episode 7. I've heard elsewhere that it was revealed to be a fake. Can anyone provide me with the link to the site debunking the photo?

Who do you think will be the Governer ?

I am voting for Michael Rooker. He plays an excellent Merle...everyone seems to be keeping it a huge secret on when he will be back...so it has to be right????

The Helicopter?

Season 1 Rick is trying to follow a helicopter when he hits the city just to turn a corner to a street occupied by walkers. When Rick tells the others about his sighting and it gets blown off. Was his sighting real or just an illusion? When they go back to rescue Merle is there a reason no one thought to maybe bring some paint to paint a message or arrow on top of the buildings just in case the helicopter was real to give a sense of direction to their camp outside the city? We haven't heard the helicopter sighting come up again, does Rick think his mind was playing tricks on him, to think to go to the CDC over a military base if he really thought he saw what he saw? Too many questions I guess.

WHY DOES THIS SEASON SUCK SO MUCH?

Jesus tap dancing Chris! whats happening to this show?
its turning into a soap opera, and why is the grass still freshly cut in some of the scenes? I raged so hard, I mean come on.and Lori, are all women like her?Walking Dead? More like The Walking Whore.
anyways some of the characters are getting really annoying.I get that they are keeping Rick alive and i accepted that. but come the eff on, I really hope that it gets cancelled if it doesn't get any better.I can always read the comics. Some one please do something.

You know what I miss...from Season 1 (besides Darabont)??

...Season 1 had a killer Soundtrack playing during the closing credits of each episode. Even THAT enhanced the show's "cool" factor. Remember Wang Chung's "Space Junk" playing as the camera panned away from a zombie surrounded Rick in a military tank? Ahh, those were the days. Bring it back!! :(

Zombie Poll

You wake up and face a ZA world. Congratulations, you no longer have to wait once a weak to see Zombies.

The problem is, you're about to die soon so you won't be able to enjoy this ZA world long. Your family and friends are all still alive. But they're also cannibals.

They give you two choice to die by. Watching them boil you is the first choice. Since they love you still (somewhat), they won't force you to be their meal. You have a choice of being eaten by zombies too.

Which would you rather die to? Zombies or Cannibals?

What I Think Will Happen

A friend of mine came up with this theory: Remember in the very first part of the first episode of season 1, Rick goes to the gas station and sees that little girl zombie and blows her away? Thats Sophia, and since Rick is out there, that means they got kicked off the farm

Write your own story camp fire style

Remember the camp fire game where someone starts a story and everyone in the circle adds a little to it.
Lets do that.
The survivors have been kicked off the farm we are ignoring the reason why who lived and who died on the farm and if the zombies got out of the barn. We will assume Sophia is dead at this point and Maggie will follow Glen. Please add to the story from what the last person wrote incorporating their ideas with yours.
Everyone loads up in the vehicles taking as many supplies as their former hosts would allow and start driving out the long dirt road

I'm in agreement

with the general consensus.
I got in on the series late - began with Season 2. but I bought Season 1 and watched it over the weekend, so I'm now up to speed.
That little preface outa the way and back to the agreement part: It has become a damned soap opera. I realize we can't have an hour of walkers each episode - that would become boring, but good grief... the show is centering on all these intertwined relationships.
Some things I'm weary of: The search for Sophia, Lori in general. She makes no contribution, and why the hell do Rick and Shane seem to think that they need her blessing for any and all endeavors? Bowing to Hershel. I'm tired of the farm, let's find another place to be for awhile.
Some things I'd like to see in no particular order: Lori to miscarry. Hershel to be told that he has no say in the matter as when the group leaves. And hold the next shooting practice session from the barn loft for emphasis. Sophia to be found - dead. Her character was really a non-character anyway. Merle to reappear. Maggie to join the group when they leave, I kinda like her. Shane to get over the thing with Lori. He's got Andrea to ease some physical discomforts now and I'd bet she's a far better lay anyway. Some scenes from other parts of the world. And last, I suppose...
If there is a US Command Center, what are they planning and attempting?

Is it possible for the world to know something we don't ?

look i know its really farfetched but i am so afraid that all these zombie movies are for more than entertainment. Could the government just be trying to prepare us for the inevitable? should i get all the supplies i can get and go ahead and make a zombie proof home ? i know it sounds stupid, but what about plum island? comeon if its going to happen we need to know.if it was a big hurricane coming there would be no problem. i just want to know, is there a virus out there now that can cause all this to become real? i know i sound like loon, but i have never seen so many zombie shows and movies air before and its got me worried.

Sophia

I think she will be found but she will have been bitten and in the early stages of being infected by it. So the group is going to decide on what to do about her in the end. I think Carol will end it for Sophia and herself because there will be no way that she could go on with out her daughter at all.

Zombie Sleep Fest

Season 7 of Lost was supposed to be the Zombie Season,
Season 2 of TWD is the Lost Season.

Zombie Soap Opera

Soap operas are boring and full of melodramatic moments like "who's the baby's daddy?" And TWD is getting to be no better than a soap opera! Zombies kick butt and all, but seriously. You watch ANY zombie movie and there is always more walkie than talkie! if the midseason finale isn't chalk full of zombie killing fun I'm not returning.

Animals

I thought walkers did not kill animals---They ate a horse they killed chickens but will not do dogs ????? And the boy gets shot life threatening and he is walking around like nothing happen ????

Did they ever reveal the cause?

Love the show. I have caught this season and catching up on the 1st thru Netflix. Did they ever reveal what caused the Zombie Apocalypse?

To Those Disappointed With Season 2

You aren't alone. TWD has been the first show I loved dearly and was drawn into since Deadwood, all for about the same reasons: Excellent drama, complex characters, action, realistic setting, GREAT acting, the occasional comic-relief thrown in....

So, yes...it is terribly painful to see AMC take a show that has so much potential, and (in my opinion) slowly kill it off. Here's the points I see that are ruining the show. Sorry if I have to break it up into several posts, the AMC filters are being bothersome, so I'll have to chop up my post to see where the problem lies.:

PACE: The pace of season 1 was great. Granted they only had six episodes to work with, but the story moved just fine. Slow enough we got to meet and understand our characters, but still fast enough we met other groups too (the Vatos, Jenner at the CDC, Morgan and Duane, etc)...there was a tension in the air that this season doesn't have, because we moved quicker where anything could happen, and our team of misfits had greater things on their mind, and not one of those things was what kind of sandwich were they gong to eat on the porch or who wanted to play the guitar. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Where are the undead hordes?

I have been mentioning this in other threads here. Where is everybody?

The plot assumes that the zombie apocalypse has pretty much succeeded and the country, if not the world, has been overrun by the undead hordes.
But where are the tens of millions of walkers in the show?
Aside of the occasional walker we get gifted in each episode, one could almost think we are watching Jericho or some other post apocalyptic show. Contrary to the spirit of the comic one does not come away as feeling the overwhelming despair of doom. Nothing gets fortified or closed. Its like a camping with wide open areas, daily laundry, careless strolls around the property, etc.. Our main actors should be shivering from fear each night expecting a herd to invade their makeshift homes.
Even though the Hershell farm is supposed to be away from main urban areas, the magnitude of the apocalypse should have the place visited by wandering undead at least several times every day. C’mon…over 200 million people are undead. Where are they?
Is it really that hard to gather several hundred volunteers and make a decent herd/horde? Herds should number in the hundreds if not thousands. Here we see them not more than 20 at a time.
Also, why are the walkers all so “complete”? Why not many many more bycicle girl types? Where are the undead that should look like Otis now? Seems like the undead have not been able to devour anybody. We really need to see more half eaten corpses and much more general human remains.
I can not understand all this. The show has been a complete success. One would think that a little more CGI and generally more funds should be just logic. At this point it looks like season one had a bigger budget than this success riding second season follow up.

Pacing is too slow.

Plot points need to be resolved or evolved within a couple of episodes.

Walter Whites Blue Meth from Breaking Bad on The Walking Dead

Did anyone else notice this... As pointed out by some friends on another message board, but the bag that Daryl had that contained all the medicine, antibiotics, and various pills.. had a batch of Walter Whites Blue Meth (from AMC's Breaking Bad) at the bottom of it??? Didn't he say he had drugs in there??? At least that's what it looked like to me. Anyone catch that???

AMC...

I'm saying this only because Im a fan and TWD is something rare, but please, PLEASE, get back to the pacing of season one, or those ratings aren't' going to stay so great.

Did Rick handle Lori's revelation of Shane & her as expected.

I feel he did. Lori thought Rick was dead. Besides the deed has been done. The only thjing now is a DNa test to determine the who the dad is.

walker pregnancys

if loris baby dies could it become a walker and eat its way out?

Apparently I'm a troll...

for thinking that this season sucks. Somebody please tell me what has been good about this season. Name one storyline that's been good. Grandpa and a barn full of zombies, the lost girl, Carl getting shot, the pregnancy drama. The only redemptive thing that's happened is when Shane killed Otis.

When did Shane hold a gun on RIck?

OK, please someone tell me... What episode did Shane hod a gun toRick? I saw a character on episode 6 season 2 bring it up as well as the actor who plays Shane did in an interview. What happened exactly and/or what episode/season was it? What was going on thru Shane's head and who saw it? Did Rick know? Was it about Lori?

the rest of the season

I see that it says there are to be 13 episodes of season 2...but they only show them up to nov.27 so when do the rest start back up

The show is about the characters here is how I see it

The show is about the characters the farm is a resting area where life as they know it gets back to almost normal. You can’t just easily jump in your car and head for wally world for extra supplies for your camping trip anymore but this is a calm as its been for a while now. Now that every day life has some kind relaxed routine our survivors are starting to do what any normal people would do. Hook up and form relationships. They are finding their placement in the group power struggles are normal. Glen and Shane are growing and becoming stronger within the group. The reality is you would need many different types of people to survive and would have to learn to compromise everything you ever learned in life in a situation like this. All the rules have changed you need people you can depend on to keep you safe but you must vow to keep them safe as well. Working together is all they have now like it or not.
However: I do feel like there are way too many loose ends. I understand that reality can be a real tough lesson in life. People go missing and are never seen again and no one has a clue what happened. I would assume that this kind of thing would happen more often in a apocalypse situation but because this is a science FICTION show and we the audience need a little boost of hope in the desperation to make us feel all warm and fuzzy. I find too many loose ends in every show. Some of these issues need a beginning middle and ending in one show. I guess I need a drama with in a drama to begin get crazy and end with in each show to make me feel that a situation like this has some order within the chaos.
For me Merle is not my favorite charter but I do like his brother and feel his anguish. He is not a big loss maybe if I got to know him better ( I doubt it). I was a little distraught about Amy but do realize that there will be losses even if we don’t want them. Even a little glimpse into what happened to Morgan and the Vito’s would be nice once in a while webisode style even. Even short show Morgan rummaging for food or something. Show him hearing Rick on the radio but not responding. Just a little flash sideways.
For the Andrea/Shane hoop up haters. Shane unlocked the power in Andrea that has been building up since Amy’s death. He unleashed the power she needed to give her faith that she alone is responsible for her life and can protect herself now regardless of the situation. She got a hard on from the power and thanked him for all his Hard work. Everyone wins. She may only be grateful once but if it was good she might be grateful for a while. In order for Shane to stay balanced between his dark side and light he needs something to make him care and keep him grounded. With her new found powers they make a good pair. I like Dale but he is kind of a wus with a lot of grandfatherly advice. He is good for the group they need someone to go to for caring advice. He keeps people from loosing their minds gives them someone to talk to that they feel safe with

This is garbage

Somebody needs to take this boring show out back and put it down. I wish there was a shark to jump. It would be a vast improved over farmville with zombies.

I've Noticed Something Missing From The Series!

Rick has not been maintaining contact with Morgan. I wonder if he's going to start up again or he figures that he's lost the urge to stay in touch with him?

Love this show!

I will keep tuning in, just hope I don't have to wait until October 2012 to see the new season. Andrea could have been a little more hard to get, but hey, it is the END of the world after all. I like Shane and Andrea together, two crazies in love. They make the show interesting, because they are dangerous. And call me sick, but I loved it when Shane put Dale in his place. Lori and Rick, self righteous as ever, but the show needs them. The Doc has lost it with his "those are people" speech. Glenn's blurting out the truth was just too funny.."there are walkers in the barn and lori's pregnant"...still not sure if I like lori or not, I want her to close her mouth when she isn't talking. Scared a bug is gonna fly into it. People who keep their mouths open all the time bother me. yuk. Other than that..I have no complaints. Love this show!!

Going downhill in a hurry...

I was so into this show when I found the first 6 episodes on Netflix but it has gotten worse. I agree with those who have said it's getting to be like a soap opera. The very person that was supposed to make this show good is the one in my mind who is destroying it. That is Lori. She is a complete jackass and hypocrite. Every episode I watch now with her is one more step closer to not watching at all. She is a complete idiot... and all those who I've heard say how beautiful she is... that must be a bad joke.. As far as I'm concerned, I can't stand her and wish she would disappear.

Bad acting and script

It's getting so bad =/. I get the hee-bee jee-bees watching the corny soap opera each episode. This episode was probably the worst.

I don't care how beautiful Maggie and Lori are. They can't act the dramatic parts.

Unwatchable -HUGE LET DOWN

My girlfriend and I are what your advertisers would consider their target audience. We are giving you one more episode before we tune-out for good.

Herschel Family/Horses

Why do we not see more of the family bresides crazy chicken lady and Maggie? Why do they tie up their horses when in town? Walkers eat horse I thought....I was waitin for them to have to walk back to ranch.

Shane and andrea hooked up ! NICE

Who else would have taken over the Mexican Gang's fortified base from season 1?

I mean seriously.. There were tanks and other Military Vehicles right there, easily Fortified, and Medical Supplies were stockpiled in a small amount. 100% I think they would have been the unfortunate tough guys at the end of my scavenging.. Especially if they acted the way they did in the show.. Game On!!

What's up with all the Gerber brand bladed tools? Are they sponsoring the show? In my opinion they are crap compared to other stuff that's out there..

There are soo many other options, but it seems everyone in this show is carrying a Gerber blade of some sort..

The Group vs. Hershel

Would the group be considered bad if they took over the farm?

What are they doing to this show?

I'm pissed. what are they doing with this show? it used to be exciting now i fight with myself to not turn it off I still haven't made it through tonights episode. They need to move on without the little girl and stop being ridiculous. forget about feeding zombies and being "gun free" you're gonna get eaten. do something about it.

did not come on tonight

does anyone know why the walking dead didn't come on tonight. Friend just called me and asked.

walking dead

Lost Child

I think they should give up on finding that kid. They'll never find and if they do she's either nothing but bones or a zombie.

that little boy may save one of their lives. And this chick better get this stuff out cause she bout to really set some stuff off

Ha!

Let the Lil Boy shoot, shit!

Why does the Docs property seem immune from Zombies?

Why is the Docs house not boarded up, or secured? Why does he never have Zombies trying to get to the people that are on his property? Does he use the Zombies in the barn as food to stay alive? Think about the "jerky" the girl brought to Glenn. The zombie in the well, why didn't he try to get it out before? Is he trying to build up an immunity by slowly contaminating the living? So many unanswered questions. Anyone have any good answers?

Who's ready for 28 minutes of The Walking Dead tonight?

Who else thinks we'll see more actual screen time of that annoying Pizza Hut commercial with the father using hip hop slang circa 1997, than actual screentime involving walkers?

I'm only half joking here, but I am not the first one here to complain about the fact that some of the commercial breaks feature 10+ consecutive ad spots.

Ratings are through the roof. Can't AMC charge a much higher price per commercial and run fewer overall commercials, rather than piss off legions of viewers by saturating the show with ads?

Yes, I understand that ad rates are set using an antiquated system that's tied into first-run viewer ratings. But that system has been in place for half a century, and it's 2011 for crying out loud. In the age of thrice-nightly encores, web availability, on-demand availability, iTunes downloads and Netflix, there are so many ways for people to watch the show that ad rates should NOT be set by a system created in the 1960s.

I suspect most people do not watch the show in real time, and instead use their DVRs to save themselves from enduring the intolerable commercial breaks.

So AMC, please take this feedback seriously. You have some excellent shows and a loyal viewership. Don't drive us away.

I'm new and old.

I just discovered the series with Season 2. And It appears that I'm going to have to buy Season 1, because this thing has really drawn me in. I'm hooked. That's the new part. I'm 65 years old, that would be the old part.
And of course, as with many viewers, I've kinda inserted myself into the state of things and thought about what would I do?
Well, a little background: I grew up in a very rural area in Oklahoma. I began hunting and fishing prior to the age of 10 and I've continued to all my life. Wild game and fish constituted a large part of the diet and still does today. The area was farm and ranch country.
We gardened and killed and butchered our own livestock. Water came from wells. Basic grocery buying too place at the little "country store". Big shopping was done at the nearest "town", which was 25 miles from the homplace and est. population of that town was around 5,000.
There are many areas, particularly in Georgia, that fit that description. And I'd find 'em. Canned goods last for years. Cattle, hogs and chickens to be killed and eaten. Well for water. Country stores to raid for other supplies, including ammo (I'll get to that momentarily). I'd travel on horseback, ain't no walker gonna catch a horse and if a few walkers are around the country stores, it couldn't be many - kill 'em.
If I were part of the current group, it wouldn't be for long and the only person I'd want to take with me would be Daryl. I wouldn't consider Rick as my leader, I wouldn't answer to him, because I know better than he does how to survive.
Sophia? Tragic, but another casualty of misfortune. She shoulda stayed where Rick put her. Move on to wherever.
Ft. Benning? Tricky as to what could be there. Perhaps - even probably - several thousand zombies. That could a real risky endeavor. One man to recon conditions? Maybe.
Meanwhile, conditions be as they are, I'd tell Hershel to kiss my ass, that I'd be staying until I get ready to go. Oh, and Herschel, I'm gonna go shoot up the barn. What can he say or do? Nothing, zip, nada, zero.
Weaponry: I've already addressed the crossbow / archery thing in another post. Impractical, unsafe and impossible over the long haul for many reasons. I'm an archer too, I haven't mentioned that.. My weapons would be .22 caliber, autoloaders - pistols and rifles.
Capacities average 10 rounds. Small cartridges, one can carry 1,000 rounds in a small nylon sack. And all country / rural stores stock .22 ammunition. A .22 round will easily penetrate a human skull, good for small game and would do the job on a deer and domestic animal with head shots. And very importantly, relative to shotguns or "big game" rifles, the report (noise) is not nearly as loud and can't be heard all that far away.
If the group chose to follow me, I suppose that I'd try to help protect them and feed them the best I could, but I would not want to be looked upon as a leader, but as a survivor. Do what you want to do, but don't attach yourself to me and don't even think about me taking your course or plan.

Finding Sophia

Can anyone wait for them to find Sophia and get on the story? They have dragged this out way to long.

Otis would have found Sophia

If he was still alive

Just sayin', Shane.

I've always wondered what the 22 on Shane's necklace meant, does anyone know?

Song in AMC sunday nights trailer?

been looking everywhere for it, its the guitar/violin inspiriational song that is playing in the background during the promo for amc sunday nights with walking dead 9/8c and HoW 10/9c that plays a lot. anyone know the name of that song i really love it!

Strategy? Diversion? Secure Camp??

Don't get me wrong I love the show, but the premise seems to be what if a group of morally bankrupt, people with below average intelligence, weak constitutions, and zero sense of strategy, were left alive when the rest of us turned into Zombies. Why do they continually pick camp sites with lots of cover for approaching attacks, and no natural defensive features? How in the hell were they in a camp for days and nobody checked or asked about the barn?? Daryl has shown that his cross bow is a supperior weapon and does not draw additional zombie attention, yet they are teaching markmanship, not archery? It seems in this particuar Zombie appocalypse animals are immune? If that is the case the zombie threat is limited to when they run out of food and rott off thier bones. If you could just hide out somewhere for 4 or 5 years crisis averted?? This is not the fisrt zombie movie weak on strategy, but I think they are missing an opportunity here to be clever and demonstrate supperior intellect over a bunch of scary rotting corpses?

Comic vs. Show

I REALLY like that they are very different in their approach with things in the show as opposed to the comic. Getting 2 good things from 1 good idea is never a bad thing.

Adding more gore and characters to the series "The Walking Dead"

I think there should be all different types of animals which are affected by the virus on the series "The Walking Dead". It would make it more realistic. Since human beings would be the hardest to capture or attack, animals would fall victim to the endless hords of zombies, thus adding realisim to "The Walking Dead" series.

Questions.

I'm an old man, 65. I would have never thought that I'd be watching something like this. It began by looking then looking away. Too scary, too horrid, too... Well, you get my point. Consequently, I missed all the first season. But I've watched season 2, and read
the AMC details and watched clips.
But I'm still really behind. I guess my main question is how did all this begin? I mean what disease or whatever it would be called - cause the dead to become walkers.

Help an old man out here.
Thanks, Ronnie

Im new to the show and love it...I have gone back thru all 1st season and can't find how the zombies got this way...What happened?

decomposition

Why are some of the zombies decomposed and others not? you'd think that over time the zombies would be getting weaker and weaker with nothing to sustain the cell matter.

TIMELINE: Day/night cycle of events

Your Post

Lori is Pregnant

How far do you think the writers will let her go being pregnant. There would be know way for her to ba able to keep up in a condition like that if she was over 3 months. Plus who is the father..i personaly think it is Shanes bur it is just a matter of time till she has to tell rick any ways about her and shane. She feels guilty because this pass episode when rick and shane came back from there search for the lil girl she told her they had a long talk and rick looked so upset she thought she was caught.

Doc Hershel's Barn: could the Walkers be guinea pigs?

Hershel's barn is full of walkers and I believe he's experimenting on some of them (zombified strangers who wandered on to the property) to find a cure the rest of them (zombified family and friends). The evidence I feel supports my theory are these: a) When Rick told the Doc that his group had been to the CDC and there was no cure, the Doc simply refused that there couldn't be. b) Hershel told Rick that he wanted to handle any of the walkers that came onto his property personally. c) even after Shane informs Doc's group of Otis's death, they kept questioning him about it, though this could also be interpreted as seeking closure and wanting details, it seemed more as if they wanted to know Otis's condition after death. Hershel seems pretty sure in his belief that a cure must exist, and being the leader of his group, it is fair to assume that the others in his group might feel the share the same belief. Also take a look at how Rick's group grieves over another member's loss or injury compared to what little grieving we've seen amongst Hershel's group after Otis died. Just some thoughts and theories I thought I'd shoot out there, thanks for reading my post, and I'd appreciate any feed back.

Daryl's areo went through him. He should turn into a Walker soon.

There is no way that Daryl could clean his areos good enough. When it went through him, his blood would be contaminated with zombie blood so doesn't that mean that he should be a walker soon. Unless the writers of this show have changed how turning into a zombie works. If he does turn then how much time will it take?

Zombie Creation

If zombies eat people, how are new zombies created?

What did shane mean when he said rick situation was a "ground rule double"

Doyou think he could of got laid but screwed up? Orr that he thought it was a homerun but only got to second?

Say Did Anybody Take Notice Of This?

It was in the beginning of the recent episode during the flash back sequence. There was a woman in this red car that was cowling inside of it as camera zoomed in briefly on her. It looked like that very same car appears in second episode when Dale is removing the radiator hose from it. Only this time the woman is now dead and still in that car.

Anti Gun?

Did the Brady people get to the writers? All of a sudden it seems that the series has taken an anti gun tone. Accidental shootings, guns rarely appear, and when they do they never get shot except for the regular accidental shooting. Getting very disappointing.

Timeline

Anybody know the timeline that the show has been on so far? How long has it been since Rick woke up in the hospital and how long was he in a coma before then?

Any one know what knife Daryl has on the 5th episode?

I have searched every where and i can not find out what knife this is anyone know? It was seen in this scene

Can anyone tell me where i can successfully watch FULL episodes of the walking dead for free?

Sofia.

I NEED to know if Sofia will be foung because it is killing me to find out. Also I know Karl is O.K. but why can't he at least walk up around the house. It also seems like every one is getting shot. (Rick, Karl, Dayrl, and Ottis)

Rick's revelation

I may have missed something, but I think Rick already knows that his wife is pregnant. I think that is what the dr at the CDC told him.

What super hero would have the best chance to survive a zombie attack and why?

I think it would be super man. He cant be bit and he could just throw them all into space lol. Unless they became zombies because of Kryptonite

Quick Zombie Question ;D

I'm not sure i've gotten a straight answer about this before, but if an animal is bitten, does it have the same affect as it doesn on humans?

What was Daryl dragging

When Daryl come out of the woods, right before Andrea shoots him, he was dragging something. But they don't reference it anywhere in the episode that I recall, and after he's shot they just leave it there and carry Daryl to the house. Does anyone know what that was?

barn

who didn't see the zombies in the barn comming

Dr. Jenner

I am still confused as to what he said to Rick. Will we ever find out?

Rick Grimes has been Zombified on THE BITTEN page (Google Plus). Who's next?

My buddy, +Byron Rempel, is the Zombie King, on Google Plus. He has a page devoted to zombies called 'The Bitten.' On that page, he has a great illustration of Rick Grimes, who's been zombified. He did it as a 'what if' scenario, as in "What if Rick was just bitten and became a zombie?" ha! It's fantastic, and it looks like Shane may be the next zombie. Stop by and say hello - and tell him +Sean Cowen sent you over from AMC and I hope you love his work. It looks amazing!

How long are we going to keep draging this search out.

Last season was intense but this season is just down right boring and i am about to stop watching this damn show

Last night's episode was the best this season but...

I think the whole "who's the father" drama is a bit over the top...really, with all the stress and anxiety, would any of these women be having their "cycles"? I think it's a bit unrealistic for Lori to be pregnant. I'm also a little annoyed with Maggie's fake Georgian accent...she sounds more West Virginian or thereabouts. That being said, I love the zombie barn ending. Maybe they can find someplace to lock up Andrea, too!

Daryl in My opion is the one I would want to protect me

Daryl to me is the strongest. He has the survival skills no one else has. He would be the one I would want to lead me if I was in the group. I would start a relationship with him if I was in the group. Daryl is the sexiest one in the group. He maybe a redneck or whatever but he is the one I would want on my side to protect me. Daryl is the one who has all the skills to find Sophia. He has a heart and I hope in the the episodes the group sees that he is not the rough redneck they think he is. I Love Daryl. My hands were so shaky when he fell and got hurt than the zombies attacked and then when he was returning to the others and Andera thought he was a walker and didn't listen to Dale when he told her to wait. Than she took it upon herself to shoot him.I was so upset. Maybe Andera needs to follow Dale's advice and maybe she has a chance to survive. I'm not a big fan of her she thinks she knows everything maybe she should have offed herself when Dale gave her a gun back than she wouldn't have shot Daryl. Go Daryl I Love you save Sophia.

Is Herschel really just a vet? Or is he maybe a Doctor from the CDC.

Fan Soundtrack - Add a song that reminds you of TWD!

Let's start a fan soundtrack... add any song that reminds you of something on or about the show. Maybe a song reminds you of Daryl or Rick or another character, or is zombie related, or just sounds like a epic end of the world type of song. Add it here!

What Zombies?

An hour of sappy dialogue/drama. A Georgia woodsman who falls on his own arrow, twice. A Georgia lawman who totes a shotgun and behaves like a disarmed British subject. Throw in a couple of lame walkers, a barn full of Oprah viewers and label the racist villain a Republican and voila....Hollywood screwed up what could have been a great series. This viewer is walking.

Will there again be only six episodes this season?

Six episodes is pretty lame and makes for a long time to wait to find out what happens!

Walker

I wonder if that walker actually bit through daryl's boot or not?

Walker

I wonder if that walker actually bit through daryl's boot or not?

Daryl's arrows

So does Daryl somehow CLEAN the arrows he uses to hunt game, or does he use the SAME ARROWS for hunting game that he does to shoot zombies?

What the Chupacabra is.

I think Darryl saw some type of zombie animal.

There was a child walker in the barn

If you watch the last scene closely, you can see a child walker in Herschel's barn, and it looks like it might be a little girl.

The camera follow's Glenn's gaze down, then cuts to a reaction shot of his face, then we see the walkers down below again. The second time the camera settles on the walkers, you can see what looks like a child walker on the left, almost hidden behind the adult walkers.

I'm not convinced it's Sophia, and I'm not convinced AMC would be so subtle about revealing a clue to a mystery that's spanned five episodes. This show is subtle by TV standards, but it still tends to beat viewers over the head with things if they're important.

But it makes for an interesting theory. Maybe Sophia will be found -- as a walker in Herschel's barn. That would also explain the preview that shows Lori telling Rick he's got "to make things right" and Rick swearing he will.

Thoughts?

WHO WILL HOOK UP?

Daryl and andrea? Andrea and shane?

walking dead

how does michael dissaper wen the guy is laying down n the floor

Daryl's arrows

Since Daryl reuses the same arrows to kill walkers, would the arrows not be contaminated? would he not get infected when the arrow penetrates his side?

walking dead

how did michael come back if he was handcuffed

Plot Questions Unanswered

I have two main issues with the plot thus far:
1. Where in the story does the opening sequence from season 1 take place? (the little girl Rick shoots at the gas station) rick has removed his police uniform and was shown shooting the little girl walker dressed in his uniform. Can someone explain this? Is it possible the little girl is Sophia? I don't believe so, but it could have been a flash-forward to Rick's finding her.

2. Was the bombing depicted in Chupacabra on Atlanta? I did not see that much evidence of the bombing in the season one episodes.

3. Obviously I'm plagued by what it was Jenner whispered to Rick. It could not have been about Lori because Rick almost told it to Duane on the walkie-talkie on season 2 - episode 1. It must involve either info on where to go or a possible immunity in the group.

Thanks for any serios answers provided.

The Walking Dead webisodes rock!

Just watched them and they reminded me of how and why I fell in love with TWD in the first place. If you haven't seen them, it's a must! AMC should have a TWD webisode contest, let viewers come up with our own 3-min or less webisode, put the best ones out there for fan voting or something. Imagine the scene inside a transoceanic airliner when the ZA hit. How about a cruise ship? What happens to folks on the international space station? Plenty of ideas to explore, and the webisode is a great way to do it - quick, easy, and cheap.

My Otis theory

Otis will show up at the Farm. I say this because in episode 1 season 1 Morgans Wife. Morgan says she returns every night and seeing the scene its as if she recognizes it. Also Season 2 Episode 1, the heard. I don't know just a thought....

is Daryl dixon is going to be one of the walkers?

i hope he's not.. i cant accept that..

Do you want daryl to be a walker?

No, I don't want. He's cool. he shouldn't be bitten by a walker

Lori's Character

I don't really like Lori. I think she's a hypocrite and self righteous.

What started the zombie apocalypse?

What started the zombie apocalypse?

why no guns on the farm?

ok..so the good Dr. doesn't want the farm to become an "armed" camp. Why the heck not. Walkers..duh..shoot em in the head Doc. not a time for self righteousness...I say "arm everybody!"...if it moves and it's ugly...blow it to heck....Otis had a gun on the farm..remember that..? when he shot the deer and Carl? Guns don't kill people..zombies kill people...oh..and find some silencers too..and more bullets.

Glen and Maggie scene in the pharmacy

The Glen and Maggie scene in the pharmacy was poorly done. Glen is supposed to be the smart guy, yet they tie up their horses out in front of the pharmacy like walker bait. The dinner bell was ringing to me. Otis and Shane go to get the medical equipment and there is a gazillion walkers because it fits the story, and Glen and Maggie go to the store and encounter ZERO walkers even though they are riding nice big yummy horses. Lame. The sex scene seemed like it was stuck in there to fill in time in an otherwise uneventful episode. I hope there was a point to the walker in the well scene, but I'm guessing from Maggie's reaction that there isn't. Come on, TWD, you can do better than that!

Story Notes: Please stop

Please stop the inane story notes such as:"the blood spattered baby seat hints at what the early days of the invasion were like". Really? I thought maybe they fed the baby Spaghetti-O's while driving fast. Those notes, like the new on-screen ads during show time are annoying and distracting from the show. Please muzzle your greed until the commercial break—we pay enough already.

Get rid of the Winnebago!

Rick to become a dark hero.

I was watching AMC and it showed clips from the seson of shows we have not seen. It shows Rick telling Lori of good intentions are not what they need..is Rick turning like Shane? I hope not

Rick to turn more like a Dark Hero

I seen a clip of him telling Lori that good intentions make the group weak and I thought Rick was about being good but you seen in since his sone got shot, Rick has turn somewhat like Shane but not that far gone. I hope RIck does not become a Mad Max like character.

I dea for what was whispered in Rick's ear at the CDC.

At first I thought the doctor gave Rick some advice or important information for finding a cure. But now I think he may have told Rick that Lori was pregnant. He did take everyone's blood after all and test it. Your guys' thoughts?

My two bits (of flesh)

As evidenced by episode one season two, the walkers have a functioning digestive system. This explains why we haven’t seen any exploding walkers due to their abdominal cavity becoming filled beyond capacity. However, that then begs the question, “Where are all the piles of walker faeces?” No organism is capable of 100% efficiency digestion. There is always some form of waste material. What? Would that detail be too graphic for a series about flesh-eating undead? Furthermore, it opens the possibility that by destroying the abdomen the walkers may be starved to death. After all, the only function of the digestive system would be to break down their “food” and allow distribution of nutrients to support their living brains. They must also have some primitive form of circulation. The heart is not necessarily required for this as their blood seems to have formed into a black, gelatinous substance which may be capable of transferring nutrients. It is obvious that the nutrients are not being used to affect regeneration, as they are continuing to decompose. On the other hand, starvation may not be an option. They appear to enter a “hybernative state” when no prey are available. This is demonstrated to us in episode six season one when there are no animated walkers present as they approach the CDC building. Only after a few moments of noise and/or smell, do any walkers “awaken” and attempt to feed. On the bright side, due to the fact that they gain no regenerative benefits from eating, they will all eventually decompose beyond their ability to function. The rate would depend on environmental factors. It could take weeks or months, but if the survivors can hold on and avoid further contamination, they have a chance. They should not be in danger of acquiring the original (most likely airborne) strain of the disease. The survivors would have become affected already, so they probably have a genetic immunity.

How did everybody become Zombies and is it just in USA

Has anybody heard of how the zombie outbreak started? Is this just in the USA, north america or world wide.

walking dead relatives

How come none of these people have never run in to a relative who is a walker? Do you think that will happen in a future episode?

Zombie Contingency Plan petition

I created a petition on the We The People website, asking the government to release any information they have on Zombie Contingency Plans. Feel free to sign it, if just for a laugh. http://wh.gov/b6h

Theory: Darryl Will Become a Zombie

Why will Darryl become a zombie?

1) He's been using that crossbow and the same few arrows to kill walkers. We've seen him pull expended arrows out of walker corpses again and again, and he even complains when Andrea makes him kill the suicide walker who was hanging from a tree, because it's "a waste of an arrow."

2) In the episode 5 preview, he takes a fall, tumbles, and gets pierced by one of his own arrows.

The writers can get around this if they want, but if Darryl and co. were scrubbing those used arrows and dipping them in disinfectant, we certainly haven't seen that on camera.

So judging from what we've seen on-screen, Darryl should become a zombie when he's pierced with his own arrow. Thoughts?

We need a map.

Does anyone know where in Georgia this farm is? I don't need a google map flag or anything, but a county would be nice. I need some footing in the landscape to help me play the mental game of "What are the logical next steps." While I'm at it, I think the group plan and motivations need to be revisited.

Does anyone think that the well walker was somebody the doctor and his daughter might have known?

I think it might be either someone who worked there or could be a family member. They seem to know everything that goes on their farm so they should have known what was in that well.

Dale is so lame

Dale's purpose in this series is to take everyones gun away and then lecture people about having sex.

why in the world would they not have the new season for people to watch. So if some one has to work they miss an episode we miss and have to pay how is that going to bring up ratings?

Where's Sophia?

OK, this poor girl has been missing for too long. I'm dying to find out what happened to her I really hope shes not turned or dead. We know she started off going in the direction Rick told her to go, and then veered off. Why? The theory was that something spooked her but it probably wasn't a walker because there was only one set of tracks. So what could have kept her from going back the way she came? hmm I'm just dying to have the answer

Scientifically, zombies would deteriorate fast

...due to maggots, beetles, and bacteria. Even a pouring rain would wash bodily fluids into the soil. so, technically, how are zombies able to "survive" for more then a few weeks? Seems to me, they all should deteriorate due to natural biological factors.

Walking Dead Board Game!?

You know something's gained a decent amount of popularity when a board game is made from the concept. I'd like to hear people's opinions on the game and if you'll consider buying it. And if you have already played it, tell me how crazy it is!

GET ON WITH IT !

What the heck has happened to one of the most kick a$$ zombie movies, it has turned into "days of our lives" . In last episode 1 freaking zombie and 48 minutes of drama move on with the plot AMC . As far as who is going to die first itll be Shane when Rick finds out he bedded his wife and left him for dead, lets see that and then more zombie killing.

Moar Glen!

We need more "Awesome' Glen; the planner, the thinker, the super stealthy smart ass that called Rick a dumbass for getting stuck in the tank but still saved him. Everybody got all gynostastic this season. They're all sensitive, whiny, crying women. Even Daryl is pussing out. The they must have added a female to the writting/ production staff. And ONE zombie in all of episode 4! We need less estrogen and more Zombies.

Move on ...

I cant belive they really stay after that old man will, they are a good group, they should build a freakin moving fortress and search the planet for survivors...try rebuild the freaking human rase not staying at a stupid farmhouse where one old man tells them to not carry a weapon DUDES IS FREAKING APOCALYPSE the WORMS SHOULD CARRY A KATANA omg such a bad script, if the old man dont want them to carry a weapon they should MOVE ON, find some trucks that carry animals reinforce them make some fortress on wheel one to carry them one to carry supplies. KILL THOSE STUPID BORING KIDS BOTH OF THEM also KILL THE SCRIPTER so we dont have to hear those stupid lame conversation, get the rest and go kill zombies find others find a place to establish a real base, try to start a new life to TAKE OVER WHAT WAS ONCE OURS..... my 2 cents

abandoned farmhouse

anyone else notice when Daryl was searching the farmhouse there was a noise and shadow from one of the windows..looks like he flushed out Sophia with his stealth?

WHO IS IMMUNE TO THE VIRUS?

I think it will be shane or rick...

I THINK IT WILL BE TDOG JUST SAYING... OR THE MOTHER OF SOPHIA

Really wish I had AMC

I was lucky to get season 1 on Netflix...I really hate that I'm missing season 2...trying to hold out on reading posts, some of them are kindof like spoilers for me! I hope Netflix will soon have it...I'm DYING to see season 2!!

could that be shans baby, and is that why she said to him stay.

New Member - Hi All !

I really like the show, which is saying a lot for me as I’m not normally a zombie movie fan. The first episode really caught my attention with the way they played it out. A good balance of mystery, drama, music, and common sense. While season two does seem to be a bit slower paced, it still has me hooked for now. Looking forward to more.

AMC TV needs a new forum program

AMC TV you need to change to a new forum program. People do not even know how to post here! They post their messages at the top level and not at the proper conversation! This damn scrolling crap is starting to piss me off!

Stop referencing the graphic novels!

I am aware that there are graphic novels, of which this great TV show is loosely based. I am also aware of the fact that the writers of the show have the freedom to go wherever they want with this series. Do you? Though some elements of the novels may end up in the show, many more will not, and the writers may even go in other directions the novels didn't. So for your own sanity, and the sanity of those around you, quit referencing the graphic novels!

~ Survivors in the Military ?

Why did they skip over Maggie and Glenn's sex scene?

I read about their "steamy sex scene" but all I saw was a kiss, he took his shirt off, then they skipped over the sex scene and showed them riding back on horses. I don't need to see anything graphic, but the show was pretty slow and glenn and maggie are a big couple ... they should have spent more time on them. They show lori all the time .. why not show glenn and maggie? why skip over it?

¿Who's the dad?

No one asked this yet. Lori is pregnant, who is the dad?
¿Rick or Shane?.. That'd be problematic..

Who are the young couple at Hershel's farm?

There is a couple that came out on Hershel's porch the first time Rick came running on to the farm carrying Carl after he got shot. They they disappeared from the show. Then on tonights episode they reappeared at Otis' memorial. Who are they and why do they keep disappearing?

Is Merle really coming back?

As i was watching The Walking Dead tonight, i got all excited when i saw Merle. I thought to myself, this is gonna be interesting next sunday. After seeing the sneak peak of next weeks episode(the one where Daryl falls off his horse), i now have my doubts. Why? well heres why. Daryl apparently falls off his horse, rolls down a bank and hits his head. I think when he hits his head, he sees a vision of Merle or a hallucination. AMC is just showing that bit of Merle to get everyone pumped for next weekend when really it could be a fashback or Daryls mind playing tricks on him. I certianly hope not though, Merle coming back would be awsome and make the next episode pretty interesting. What do you all think about the appernce of Merle in the promo? Lets hear some possible outcomes?

Is Lori a whore, or is that just MY opinion? I mean was it that important to f##k her man's bf when the world is in a state of chaos and was it so he'd protect her and her son?

Does anybody know any more?

ricks wife

When the guy from the cdc whispered in ricks ear, he told him his wife is pregnant.

Otis

Perhaps Otis will migrate to the farm toward the end of this episode.

Could Anyone Be Immune?

I wonder, did anyone see 28 Weeks Later, where the kids and the mother were immune to the effect of the virus thingy? Anyone think the writers could work that angle here too? Make someone get bit, but not get sick or turn into a Walker...they carry the disease/virus/whatever but can't fall prey to the effects of it?

Character Kill-O-Meter Chances

Bad thread title, I know, sorry. Anyway, thought we should have something that gauges which characters could be most at risk of being offed on the show, and why/why not. Here's mine:

Rick - Not likely, he's the protagonist of the entire series. In fact, no need to go further on him.

Lori - Not sure, but not likely for awhile yet anyway.

Carl - See Lori, however if Chandler Riggs hits puberty they're either going to have to accelerate the timeline pretty quick or think of something else.

Dale - Some may see him as expendable but I don't. He's one of three characters who seem to have a true grasp of what's going on and I don't see any real scenario where he would get killed (unless he's off alone with Shane).

Glenn - Highly unlikely, with them introducing the Maggie storyline.

T-Dog - Hard to say. Aside from the blood infection he hasn't had a lot of plot to go with character wise so he could be considered an expendable character.

Sophia - Well, the kid's still missing, and if the actress hits puberty soon she could be sent away, so who knows...

Carol - She's along the lines of T-Dog for me, at least once the Sophia disappearance is resolved and especially if it's resolved with Sophia no longer living.

Daryl - Good lord, I hope not, but I"m biased. I seriously doubt it, unless Reedus wants out, Daryl has become what I've read as a fan favorite and seeing as Kirkman's toying with putting him in future novels it wouldn't make sense to get rid of him now. There's a LOT of storyline left for him as well, I'd put him up there close to Rick when it comes to character longevity on the show.

Shane - I'd like to say yes, but I think now that his character's gone dark the writers have an excellent chance to play him off of Rick's "light" if you know what I mean.

Andrea - Again, want to say yes because she bugs the heck out of me but I also hear that they're going to evolve her too.

Why Daryl Dixon Is A GREAT Character

Okay, so the next couple episodes are ones I've been anticipating for awhile now (since I read their descriptions and teasers from interviews Reedus has given) simply b/c they focus on my favorite character, Daryl. I know what some will say, because he is asthetically pleasing that's why so many like him but that's not the only reason.

What I LOVE about this character is that Reedus avoids going into a grand stereotypical redneck character, the way he could have easily done it. It's more subtle, and the evolution this character has been given by the writers is outstanding. Look at it this way, when Tell It To the Frogs first aired, or the first moments of him on screen in that episode you saw a volatile, angry guy but look how far he's come.

Now, he's part of the group, he's being valued for possibly the first time in his life. But, as I've read, he's also guarded and my favorite Reedus quote would be that he's the guy that's most in need of a hug but if you tried to give him one he'd probably stab you. However you can see the acceptance they're giving him starting to sink in, through the subtle nuances in Reedus's acting. The glances, some of the ways he talks to the others (such as when he told Carol all the hoping and praying will get them nowhere b/c Sophia would be found and would be fine or earlier when he tried to calm her in his own way after he and Rick first came back after looking for Sophia).

Anyway, I'm babbling, but I love seeing the character go this way b/c there's SO many other ways they could've taken it for the worse. I'm seriously enjoying the show, obviously, but also watching Daryl evolve as a character and hope to see a lot more. So, Kirkman, if you do something to that character you may have to be hunted down (okay, not really, but you get my drift). Don't Boba Fett this guy, he's one of the best you got on the show and he isn't even in your novels yet!

What states do Walking Dead posters live in

I just wonder where some of youWalking Dead fans live.
I live in Beach Park, Illinois.

damn it shane

man shane just had to kill odias i think thats how you spell his name lol y didnt he just shoot him firswt but nooo he had to make him suffer. and damn y havent they found the little girl yet??? man i think its gone too far i mean 1 or 2 episodes is fine but really??? they taking them this long to find her??? dumb little girl if she only listened to rick in the first place. And dont get me started on andrea damn she is annoying me i feel bad for the for the way she is treating dale all he was doing was trying to show her that her taking her own life was not the best way to go. but no shes weak bigtime man she needs to get over it and they need to find the little girl already

Old School Zombies

Remember when zombies were only black people walking around wide-eyed but as if they were sleep-walking? They were never disfigured, never ate anyone. They were called upon by voodoo priests to do their bidding which included... MURDER!

Season 2 poster

any idea as to when the season 2 poster will be up for purchase? A wall in my basement has a spot waiting for that poster!

Too many commercial breaks

I have noticed an influx of commercial breaks in season 2. This is most likely due to 1. Increased popularity of the show and thus more profitability and 2. Budget cuts, the show can be shorter with more commercial breaks. While I would still watch the show if the commercial breaks continued at the rate or increased, I will definitely consider only watching on dvr to fast forward through commercials. And amc knows that dvr watchers do not count in their GRP, ratings. If enough viewers become angry enough with the commercials, especially if they continue to increase, ratings could plummet. I hope amc checks these forums as they can get valuable opinions from viewers and make necessary changes. Amc, please don't take advantage of your viewers!!

Who's Pregnant?

Someone is going to be pregnant...Lori would make sense because it would make the entire Rick/Lori/Shane thing interesting....but, Andrea threw her guts up when she saw the hanging walker....morning sickness? If so, who? She's been on the run for quite some time now...potentially 2-3 according to time lines posted by others. Didn't they all have their blood checked at the CDC? Maybe we need to go back and review that episode...seems like something strange happened with her getting blood drawn...maybe her bHCG was high...meaning prego!

I agree...farmer/vet has loved ones (for sure his wife) chained up...the house that we see Daryl storm into may not reveal Sophia but maybe he discovers the farmer'/vet's secret

Maggie survives and joins group...doesn't she take her zombie chained up brother with her in the comic book?

In the opening scenes of season 2, episode 1, Rick is on top of a building sending a message to the father/son back in his hometown explaining what's going on...he says that the guy at the CDC told him something...and then he says, never mind, it makes no difference....did anyone catch that? Again, this is a reason to review the CDC episode...did Rick learn something? Or was he simply referring to the fact this is worldwide and no cure and he simply doesn't want to tell the father/son duo this?

Where's Merle?

Someone in another thread suggested that Merle was tracking the group. I never thought of it but it would make sense. His survival skills are at least that of Daryl's and I would tend to think he is not the forgiving kind, to both Rick for leaving him there or T-Dog for throwing away the key (from Merle's point of view).

When Daryl and Merle are reunited I think that Daryl will ultimately be forced into a scenario where he has to choose between Merle and the Group.

Since the Group is becoming a family to Daryl, one that he never really had and, I think, is liking having one now, will choose the group. This may be a pessimistic point of view, but we have not seen many happy endings on this show.

Zombie "life" Span

I wonder what happens to zombies if they don't feed for a while? If a significant amount of time passes after their last meal, do they "die", or waste away, become weaker?

why does it take forever for the latest episode to appear online??????

i missed last weeks episode. ive been logging on here for days and days waiting for them to stream last weeks episode. i dont get why it takes forever for this to happen. other TV websites have the night before's episode streaming that next day. this is the worst AMC.

Ode to Otis

Otis, Otis
Shot a deer
But poor Rick's son
Was not all clear

And so the boy bled,
Shook and shivered
It was up to fat Otis
To see him delivered

So he went out with Shane
For medical supplies
But they had no game plan
And got a zombie surprise

When down to the wire
The duo looked damned
Otis saved Shane's ass
And proved a great man

But how did Shane thank him?
You might ask me
With a bullet to the leg
And a kick in the knee

Remember poor Otis
When your friends are in need
And honor Shane too
When you do the deed!

battling the dead

Why does not the group have radio communication, moltov cocktals, improvised clay

Daryl

Can anyone tell me where I can get a Poster or Photo of him. The only ones I can find are from the Boondock Saints. I would love to have one from the Walking Dead. Even the group Photos and posters do not include him! HELP

alphadog: episode 2.04 ricks son

who thinks they will make ricks son stay in his condition he is in now for atleast 2 more episodes. because they do not have the right equipment or whatever to save the boy? really, it shold have stopped after 2 episodes..

Andrea

Can a person be any more whiny or annoying than she is? In the first episode of season 1 she draws down on Rick, blaming him for their being trapped in the building, then in episode 5, when Amy was killed by a walker, she once again drew down on Rick when he approached her about destroying the body! When will he tire of her theatrics and put a boot in her but or a bullet in her brain?
In the final episode of season 1 she decides to "Opt" out. What I can't understand is why anyone cared.. She's dead weight to the group. She panics in a crisis and doesn't know how to shoot or fight.

In the recent episodes all she does is whine and bitch about Dale saving her pathetic life.. give me a break!

SHANE AND RICK

I think that they need one another.. Rick to guide shane in his darkest hours.. And shane to help rick snap out of it sometimes.. and focus :)

TEAM RICK OR TEAM SHANE??

What do you guys think?

The Walking Dead Fan Art

I really like the image in the header of the site so I created my own version using about 10 different stock images and I also included a custom music track:

Let me know what you guys think!

Zombie Jokes

Q. Why did the zombies breath smell like $hit?
A. Because he was late for lunch.

Season 2 Episode 4 - Assumptions

Thinking that maybe almost everyone here has seen 2 all previews or "Sneak peeks" on Season 2 Episode 4 "Cherokee Rose", who can give their assumptions on the following points:

1) What will Daryl find in that house he goes into?
2) Why do you think Glenn is going down that well knowing that there is a fat blob walker inside?
3) Why does Herschel wants them to move on as soon as they find Sophia?

SHANE

Deborah daryl is good.. But not enough to replace shane.. The love triangle and where the story takes rick shane and lori cant be matched by daryl.. He's good dont get me wrong but shane is needed in the show... Makes it exciting.. and hey daryl might even turn on the group for his brother...

Shane

I think that shane will surprise us when he gives his life for RIck.. or lori and carl.. Hes not as bad as everyone is he just needs someone to keep him on check

SHANE

think that SHANE makes the show interesting.. RICK is good and so is daryl Everybody else is boring useless.. So even if people keep saying oh i hate shane for what he did to otis really? i would i love to see what anyone would do in that situation.. if lets say your love ones were waiting for you.. and you were with a total stranger and you realize only one can survive.. Yea shanes a little lost and you say hes mean but really he has done more wheather its for the group or for himself more than anyone else.. He kept them alive,, honeslty the old guy and the others would have been lost if he dident take charge in the begining... So they should give him more credit...

It is all Dale's fault!

When Sophia got lost, Dale made the independent decision that the group should remain and search for her by faking the motorhome breakdown. Because of this decision, Carl got shot, Otis was murdered, and Shane is seemingly teetering on the edge of insanity. Had the group been allowed to make their own decision, they might have left and none of those things would have happened. Who is Dale to be making these decisions? Who is he to have made the gun decision for Andrea? He is a very controlling character from behind the scenes.

What do you call multiple Zombies??

I read somewhere that a group of Zombies are called a "Heard" That sounds good, BUT, I think if there is more than one zombie, it would be more accurate to call a group of two or more a "sh!tload" of zombies. I think that term would be more accurate. :)

Timeframe, please

I've noticed the series never use the time-frame like most drama/action movies do-displaying the date or time to let viewers like us help make us understand when Rick got shot and how long he was comatosed, how, where and when the viurs/infection got spread other than being bit by a walker. Majority of these walkers looked like they've been dead a long time and yet, it still looks like summer time (am thinking episode one, Season two: when Lori went to pick Carl up from school-Shane appears in his car telling her that Rick got shot...all the trees had green leaves on them. Wondered if all this happened during summer months and yet, the trees still has green leaves on them when they are @ the farm house:-)

Does anyone have trouble

when I try to load any of the quizes the downloading bar just keeps running and won't let me play I don't have any trouble watching videos or clips

Available Episodes

With so much going on this time of year. I missed Episodes 2 and 3. When will they be available to view again and why are they removed so quickly? I noticed that Episode 1 is still available. I'm displeased with the consumer based theory with which these shows are being offered. I'm becoming disenchanted with it. I would appreciate a larger window of time to view each episode. Thank you.

season 1, eps. 1

i hate to say this but, hell, i have never seen the very first episode of the walking dead. could u guys help fill me in on what happend. or tell me where i can read what has happend

Why hasn't Rick really asked what happened?

I've been watching TWD since the first episode, and one thing puzzles me. If I'm Rick and I wake up in a hospital wondering just WTF happened, I would ask people "WTF happened!"
I know there has been some discussion about it, with the man and son from the first episode and a little here and there, but generally speaking Rick has never really come out and asked what happened, why is there zombies walking around, how did all of the other survivors avoid being infected, etc.

The others likely don't ask these questions, largely because they were awake when the infection was spreading and know these answers. Rick doesn't., yet hasn't really discussed it in any significant detail with anyone. I'm sure that for all of us, in Rick's situation, we'd be asking fairly quickly after meeting our loved ones again, "just WTF happened to the world."
