At San Diego Comic-Con 2011, AMC invited attendees to take photos with a replica of Merle Dixon for a chance to have a zombie bust created in their likeness by Greg Nicotero's KNB EFX Group. Mariano Candelaria of Philadelphia was the winner and flew to LA to have his bust made. As a self-described lover of all things nerdy, Candelaria says he "cannot describe how happy I was to win this prize! Going through the life cast was an experience that I will not soon forget."
