Made For the Mastersons
Do you fear the unfamiliar? Then Made
For Each Other may hit squarely in your comfort zone.
The indie romantic comedy stars Christopher
Masterson (Malcolm in the Middle) and
his brother Danny (That 70's Show); it’s
currently in production in Connecticut and due out next year. Bijou Philips, George Segal and Patrick
Warburton round out the cast, and Daryl Goldberg directs from Eric Lord’s
script.
A brief perusal of the film's
synopsis reveals three plot points that seem rather, well, let's not call them
recycled. Repurposed?
There's an unconsummated marriage
(like Charlotte and Trey's in Sex and the
City), a husband who tries to have his wife join him in infidelity (as in the "Sceneskees From A Marriage" episode of Taxi),
and a woman seducing her sister's man (that would be Charlize Theron in In Her Shoes).
Then again, there is no new thing under
the sun. Which I'm pretty sure I'm the
first to notice.

Are you calling George Segal recycled! How dare you!
