In the future, it seems, we'll have one of two options for our everyday clothing: The shimmering uniformity of a single-piece, V-necked silver suit with accompanying black boots, or something truly hideous. Indeed, no one seems to step off the ugly train more often than our scifi heroes. But who's committed the worst intergalactic fashion faux pas? Does Zed's strapping onesie in Zardoz out-flash Sting's Dune diaper? Can Samuel Jackson's florid costumes in The Spirit distract you from John Travolta's Battlefield *cough* bulge? Vote in our online tournament and help decide which scifi character would win a Worst Costume Oscar -- if only such a category existed.

Throughout the month of May, AMC celebrated the biggest heroes ever to grace the silver screen with a series of tournaments that let you, fair reader, decide who is the boldest war hero, the mightiest superhero, the baddest action hero and of course, the coolest anti-hero. Why am I bothering telling you? Because nothing says "hero" like a cape and a ray gun.

That's right, your favorite futuristic heroes waged war last month against their modern-day counterparts, and as you might expect, the competition was fierce. The action heroes tournament saw Terminator's Arnold Schwarzenegger facing down Demolition Man's Sylvester Stallone in the final round. Along the way the two faced the likes of Pitch Black's Vin Diesel and Escape From New York's Kurt Russell. Who, in the end, could defeat Cyberdyne Systems's ultimate killing machine? No one, of course.

Wolverine may be the first X-man to get his own movie, but that doesn't necessarily make him the best. Mutants both good and evil vie for supremacy in our X-Men showdown. Who has the (mutton?) chops to guide mankind through its next stage of evolution? Can Wolverine's claws cut through Jean Grey's telekinetic fields? Is Iceman cool enough to put out Pyro's flames? Can Charles Xavier outwit Magneto's polarized pull? Vote in the tournament and take a last stand to predict the future of humanity.

Let's face it: A science fiction hero is only as super as the equipment he wields -- and nothing says super like a shiny set of wheels. As Jack Nicholson's Joker once lamented upon seeing Batman cruise by, "Where does he get those wonderful toys?" But can the Batmobile's rampless jumper out-flex the DeLorean's Flux Capacitor? Can Bumblebee's Camaro out-transform Speed Racer's Mach 5? Vote in our coolest cars tournament and help decide which scifi ride will carry mankind's superheroes into the next millennium.

What threat do a martial arts master, a kung fu hacker and a subliminal CIA spy pose? When you're Terminator's Sarah Connor, who's used to battling mechanic soldiers from the future, the answer is "not much." And so Connor proved in our Tough Chicks Tournament, toppling The Matrix's Trinity and Kill Bill's Beatrix Kiddo to emerge the ultimate champion. Congratulations Sarah -- SkyNet would be proud of your relentless pursuit of the objective. Hey, wait a minute...

As Sarah Connor would tell you, there's "no fate but what we make." And in AMC's toughest chicks tournament, Connor is looking to ensure she's fated to come out on top. To do it, she'll have to beat The Matrix's Trinity, who bested Angelina Jolie's Fox (Wanted) and Aliens' Ripley to reach the semifinals. Also remaining in contention are The Long Kiss Goodnight's Samantha Caine, and Kill Bill's vengeful bride Beatrix Kiddo. It's still anyone's guess who will emerge the toughest broad, so vote now and we'll announce the winner on Wed., Mar. 25.

We scifi geeks know what we like. And for our money, nothing is better than a tough chick holding a gun, or one busting out some gravity-defying aerobatics. Fortunately, science fiction is stocked with such heroines, whether they're hunting Aliens or Terminators. Put them together and you have the makings of the hottest girl-on-girl action this side of Andromeda. Can The Matrix's Trinity out-stunt Wanted's Fox? Does Sarah Connor shoot a meaner machine gun than Ripley? Vote now in AMC's tough chick tournament, where only the baddest (and hottest) survive.

Who's the right man to rule the galaxy with an iron fist? In an overwhelming victory, the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader choked out The Dark Knight's Joker and all other super villains to top our tournament of tyranny. Congratulations, Lord Vader. Rest assured our undying allegiance to your evil reign never wavered throughout the competition. Please, don't choke us.
