Los Angeles premiere during Screamfest LA, Oct. 24th, 2009. See Jack White's acting debut!

Mutant Swinger from Mars is a 2009 Science fiction comedy film written, produced and directed by Michael Kallio. A cross between Young Frankenstein, The Nutty Professor and all of Ed Wood's movies, the film pays homage to all things sci-fi, horror and comedy. The film features the acting debut of Jack White (pre-White Stripes and Cold Mountain) of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather. Shot in 1998, but finished in 2009, it made its WORLD PREMIERE at the San Diego Comic Con on July 25, 2009. In early October of 2009, the film was awarded Best Sci-Fi/Comedy at the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival 7. The film's LA premiere will be at Screamfest 2009 on October 24th at 3:00pm at Grauman's Mann Chinese 6 theaters.

It starts with the radar testing of a Blackbird aircraft, which crashes following a lightning strike. The main part of the film is then taken up with the between life and death experience of the pilot, with many flashbacks of his life whilst he is being examined/interviewed and it is only at the end of the film that it is revealed that he in fact dead.
I have searched the name of this film for a long time by genre on Yahoo/Google etc and cannot find it.

Which medium do you feel has better served Science fiction as a genre?

There are certain classics on film like 2001 which would not work on the small screen or serial format.

However the more action oriented ones that have multiple sequels get very repetitive very fast and loose what ever was that created the suspence and itnerst. Television can play around with that kind of format more, which Is why I think Terminator: The Sarah Chronicles was better than any of the big screen sequels.

Any thoughts? As AMc is providing this forum are there any classic Sci-Fi series that you wish they would re-air?

An intriguing, well written series with an incredible cast & compelling stories was just too smart for ABC to allow to continue. I'm talking about the American remake of "Life on Mars". I just thought that such a great show deserves a chance to find it's audience & I thought AMC might make a good home since it dosen't seem to mind period pieces (MadMen) & actually wants its audience to think for a change (I simply can't take any more "reality tv". Since I watching less & less network television I thought I might see if someone at AMC might think that picking up "life on Mars" would be possible. It's a great show with an already established fan base.

the much anticapated Watchmen hit theaters last week, and it has been described in a very good manner. But it's box office performance is anything, but impressive. It hasn't been the breakthrough people thought it would it be. Which raises an intresting question: Are superheros not so super anymore? There have been plenty of flopes. Fantastic Four, The Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, Superman Returns, X2, X-Men: Last Stand, and all the Blade films.
It is a common fact that when a genre is done to death, the taste of the audience goes elsewhere. Which could put Superheros in hot water. And not just on the big screen( I can't stand Heroes anymore).
Only time will tell.
