What Did You All Think of Indiana Jones?
I just saw the new Indiana Jones this weekend, and am curious what everyone thought...
MINOR SPOILERS
I think I might be in the minority thinking the alien connection was totally cool. Most people I saw it with wanted another "Holy Grail" Tchotchke, but I was okay with it having an extra-terrestrial connection, and found myself having to remind them how far out past Indy objects have been. I think aliens was a reasonable place to go.
I also felt I was in the minority of my friends who liked Shia LaBoeuf. I think his repoire with Harrison Ford was at the very least an homage to the relationship between Ford and Connery. And the scene in the diner when the greasers get into a fight with the -- to borrow a term from The Outsiders -- Soshes, was classic!
All in all, I would say that this was a competent and enjoyable follow-up. Some people felt the film dwelt too long on noting the fact that Indy was back and told way too many inside jokes in that regard. I say, hell Indy's back! Do what you want!
