SciFi Quotes

Here's a memorable quote from a Science Fiction film. The first commenter to guess the correct film posts the next quote.

"As a matter of cosmic history, it has always been easier to destroy, than to create."

Who said it, and in what film? Let the games begin!

Spock - Star Trek II, The Wrath of Khan

Speaking of ... I'm doing a Sci-Fi convention and Film Festival in Florida called The Wrath of Con (www.wrathofcon.org). Serendipity!

Rick -- right on! But you forgot to keep the game going with a new quote!

default userpic

Something tells me Rick isn't coming back. So let's try this quote:

"You maniacs! You blew it up! Oh damn you, damn you all to hell!"

default userpic

George Taylor said that in "Planet of the Apes" (1968 version).

How about this one?

"Retreat? In our moment of triumph?"

default userpic

Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars: A New Hope. But I think he says "Evacuate? In our moment of triumph"

How about:

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

Roy Batty. Blade Runner. Boy that really makes his death (and the realization of our own eventual demise) all the more palpable.

New quote:

"There can be no understanding between the hand and the brain unless the heart acts as mediator."

Brigitte Helm as Maria in Metropolis (1927) -- an oldie, but a great film. Love that big machine that Freder has to work.

New Quote:

"This is for all you new people: I only have one rule. Everyone fights. No one quits. You don't do your job, I'll shoot you myself. You get me?"

This kind of game is probably better left to my husband and sons, but I do sometimes pay attention.

Lt. Jean Rasczak -- Starship Troopers

New Quote:

"You're not the first man to get a thrill out of murdering someone!"

Lilly,, Star trek, First Contact,,,

new quote,,"all your soldiers and their advanced technology could only put up a measley 9 minute fight,,,"

default userpic

Hahhahahahaha--

Tell me that's not John Travolta as Terl from Battlefield Earth. Tom Cruise would be proud.

Quote: "You can't leave. She won't let you."

default userpic

*S* sadly, yes it was John T. Im gettin a Ripley vibe from your quote.. "Aliens" i think.

How about this one, "TAKE THE LEG,, TAKE THE LEG!!" ,, little hint,, "Tacaw,, tacaw,,tookie tookie"

Resevoir Dogs.

"That's easy for you to say Mr. White, you've got a cool sounding name." - Mr. Pink

Predator.

"GET TO DE CHOPA"- Arnold Schwartenager

Red VS Blue

"I don't want to be dead, I want to be alive, or a cowboy!"- Caboose

"YOU WILL WORSHIP ME AS THOUGH I WERE A GOD!!!"- Religous Fanatic

"One, Two, Thr... oh you backstabbing cockbite." - Simmons (Watching Grif run away)

"It's not pink, it's lightish red!"- Donut

"Could you put that in a memo and entitle it, 'shit I already know!'"- Sarge

" You shot Church, you team killing fucktard"- Tucker

"No! I'm the team killing fucktard!"- Church (back from the dead)

"Utilizing the power of the Grif Cannon, we make a Grif-sized hole in the outer wall!... or we paint it a very disgusting color."- Sarge

"Ho, ho, ho... dirtbag"- Sarge

"Grif: But how the hell did you get outta there? I tied you up and poured concrete over the grave! Just in case you turned in to a zombie.
Sarge: Yes, but you made one crucial mistake: you left me my spoon.
Grif: NO!

Church: I can't believe I actually died for this war.

Church: So how are you doing Caboose? Are you following any of this whatsoever?
Caboose: I think so. That guy Tex is really a robot... and you're his boyfriend. So that makes you... a gay robot.
Church: ...Yeah. That's right. I'm a gay robot.

[the Blues have Lopez and have delivered an ultimatum to Sarge and the mostly robotic Simmons]
Sarge: I'm torn between my intense distrust of the blue team and the need for the plans stored in my favorite robotic creation!
[beat]
Sarge: No offense, Simmons.
Simmons: None taken, sir! You removed the negative emotional center of my brain, and implanted it in Grif!
Grif: [sobbing] I... I just can't take this, we're all going to *die*!

That's enough for now.

Also the last one was Evolution. Dr. Harry Block with an alien "fly" crawling inside him.

New quote.

Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?
No. Have you?

default userpic

Aliens -- The other person speaking (aside from Vasquez) was Bill Pullman as Hicks. Greatest character ever.

By the way, my "You can't leave. She won't let you" quote was NOT from Aliens, so if anyone still has a guess, send them along. In the meantime, try this one on for size:

"Remember, if anything happens to me, or you don't hear from me within the hour... you take this ship and you come and you rescue me."
