Giant Robots Attack Suburbia
There was a time when Hollywood viewed robots not as sinewy, slithering metallic things—a la I, Robot— but as chunky, awkward iron golems with spark-spitting slits for mouths. I prefer those old types of robots, stupidly clunking around and stealing our women when that strange human emotion called "love" somehow grips their servo-controlled heart. It's just hard not to love things so big and stupid.
Which I think goes some length in explaining why I enjoy this simple video of giant robots stomping through suburbia by director Ryan Nagata. All of the robots are of the tin wind-up variety, but through in-camera perspective tricks which I am not smart enough to understand they become lumbering behemoths with surprisingly muffed motor skills.
