Phillip Pullman, J.R.R. Rowling, and Al Gore need to stop trying to corrupt our youth with their secular values! And why can't somebody just make a fantasy movie about big animals fighting each other for our enjoyment without an agenda?

-sigh- I'm really not so sure if I want to see this, as I tried to read the book and these things bothered me-
1. Pullman is ranting against religion, saying priests are 'corrupt'. Again, one bad apple mentality of those who aren't practicing. I just feel he's pushing his beliefs on people. (And besides, I live in a large Catholic community...I have never heard of one of the priests being 'corrupt'.) So I will say this about it-
To err is human, to forgive is divine.
2. He totally gave the big reveal away EARLY IN THE BOOK.
I guess I prefer LOTR maybe because it is a fantasy story, but Tolkien himself was a religious man. And I prefer to see a story about a young hobbit resisting temptation to save Middle Earth. And Prince Caspian...hubba hubba. I'd take him over Lord Asriel any day.
