Leland, I mean Ray Wise, returns to TV on Reaper
Last night’s premiere of Reaper proved that the critics were right about something -- this really could be the next Buffy. The hour-long genre-bender mixes hellish humor with sharp characters in a backdrop of suburban angst. Reaper’s supporting cast include a bargain-basement Jack Black and a girl whose smile rivals Hilary Swank’s. But the guy who steals the show is the Devil himself. Ray "Don’t Call me Leland Palmer" Wise plays Satan beautifully, striking the perfect balance of charm, mischief, terror and whimsical authority. This could be the best Satan on the small screen since Jon Lovitz.

To me, it looked like an Americanized Sean of the Dead crossed with "Dead Like Me," but in a good way. And I loved the random Rankin/Bass reference during the climactic fight scene: "Take that, Heatmiser!"
Gary Oldman in "Beat the Devil" BMW film series
He doesn't get much screen time, but Viggo Mortensen in The Prophecy does a great Lucifer.
