There are some science-fiction artifacts that transcend the genre: that is they reach people who normally dislike sci-fi.

ABC’s Lost is good example.

Princess Leia in a gold metal bikini is another.

But the one that stands out is the theme to DR. WHO.

Ask most people if they like creepy low-budget British Science-Fiction television shows from the 1960’s -- most will say “No.”

But those same meatheads will get up on the dance floor when the DJ plays some crazy-ass techno re-mix of the Dr. Who theme.
