Robert Duvall – Hollywood's Last Great Cowboy
Broken Trail (2006)
"The English have Shakespeare, the French have Moliere, the Russians have Chekhov, and we've got the cowboy story," Duvall told The Washington Post about AMC's first original production, which snagged him an Emmy for acting. He also executive produced this tale of two cowboys on a thousand-mile horse drive in 1897. Duvall's Print Ritter has everything a Western hero should: Stoicism, wisdom, and just enough vulnerability to make him sympathetic.
