Robert De Niro Scene Stealer
Vito Corleone, The Godfather II (1974)
In a movie full of memorable moments, young Vito's first murder, of an extortionist trying to shake him for more money, is notable not just for its clever cutting against a street festival, but as our first look at the pre-meditated coolness of the character and actor. Job done, Vito disposes of the murder weapon, steps out into the street and confidently blends into the crowd; no guilt, no worries, no remorse. Both the character and the actor come across as men capable of anything.
