Romancing the Stone (1984)

The Movie: Robert Zemeckis's tongue-in-cheek adventure turned Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas into megastars.
Before the Kiss: Jack T. Colton (Douglas) courts a romance novelist (Turner) not because he's smitten, but because she's got a treasure map he needs.
After the Kiss: Once he's acquired the treasure, this fortune hunter learns an important lesson: No worldly good is as valuable as love. As for her, she learns that life's a lot messier than the stories she writes.
