3. Daryl Hannah, The Clan of the Cave Bear (1986)
The Clan of the Cave Bear mounts a persuasive argument for evolution. Again, it's the female of the species providing the civilizing influence, in this case the impossibly leggy Daryl Hannah, who plays a Cro-Magnon adopted by a tribe of nomadic Neanderthals. The poor girl has a difficult time accepting their customs because she is smarter than these sexist cavepeople. Even with a John Sayles script, this character's smarter than the movie; her protofeminist stylings earn her third place.
