No-fun scientists insist that early man walked stooped over with a low brow. Hack auteur Roland Emmerich knows better. His story sees a young beauty (Camilla Belle) carried off by marauders on horseback, leaving a hunky hunter (Steven Strait) to save the day. Strait isn't given much to work with here, but he gets points for a believable portrayal of the wildly violent lifestyle prehistoric dudes must have experienced. If only the movie wasn't so goofy, he might have landed higher on the list.
