3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)

This pick needs no justification: The great British comedy troupe's first proper feature film gets near-top honors for its ridiculous premise (Arthurian knights John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and Eric Idle receive an order to find the Grail from on high), hilarious demolition of the fourth wall, and a progression of gags that still surface as punchlines among funny people today. Not dead yet!
