10. New York, New York (1977)
Martin Scorsese's follow-up to Taxi Driver was a box office flop. But this backstage musical with its flashy production numbers still manages to squeak on to the list thanks to fine performances from Robert De Niro and Liza Minnelli. Not to mention its titular tune (from Kander and Ebb) has emerged as a classic.
