Modern Musicals
Once upon a time, Hollywood couldn't stop churning out musicals. (Even Clint Eastwood starred in one: 1969's Paint Your Wagon.) For a few decades there, the genre was all but extinct. Thank goodness they're back in favor again, and with grittier directors like Martin Scorsese and Tim Burton getting into the game, they've evolved into something more than song-and-dance routines with happy endings. Here are the ten more than worth noting.
