Saving Private Ryan (1998)
The War: World War II, European front.
The Men: A squad of army regulars (Tom Sizemore, Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, Edward Burns, Barry Pepper, and Adam Goldburg) led by Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks).
The Mission: Travel across the French front and find Private John Ryan (Matt Damon), a soldier whose three brothers have already been killed in action, to send him home.
The Twist: As the squad makes its way across the front, they have to ask: How important it is to save one man in the midst of all-out warfare? And what do you do if he doesn't want to go home?
