Janie Bryant on Suzanne Farrell’s loose-fitting flower dress (Ep. 9): "I loved Suzanne's costumes because she’s a teacher; she doesn’t have a lot of money. Matt and I talked about how maybe she’s the kind of girl who was doing the Peace Corps before she became a teacher. She’s earthy, but she’s not a hippie and she’s not a beatnik. It was really about finding a character who was sweet and open without being a love child. So this dress incorporates all those elements. I used a lot of green in her costumes, and that’s a little more earthy for her."
