Wagner on Don Draper's office door: "In the 1960s the metal aesthetic was perfectly in line with a thriving postwar corporate culture. Note that Don Draper's metal door typeface is Futura, a classic sans-serif typeface designed in the early 1920s by Paul Renner. Taking its geometric inspiration from the Bauhaus design style, Futura is still used extensively by Wes Anderson in many of his films and is also seen in the Doctor Who revival by the BBC. Maybe even cooler, though, is the fact that the band Kraftwerk used it for their logo.”
