Satisfaction (1988)

The Role: In this coming-of-age drama about a girl band's summerlong gig by the beach, Roberts plays unlucky-in-love bass player Daryle Shane.
The Line: "Think of all the clothes I could have bought in Europe."
Why She's Special in It: Satisfaction was supposed to be a vehicle for Family Ties starlet Justine Bateman, but it is Roberts who steals the show as a bassist who can't help but attract the wrong kind of guy. Her performance, both gutsy and vulnerable, fills up the screen, thereby elevating her character from the role of sidekick. She becomes a central part of this story about growing up -- one rock-and-roll song at a time.
