Uncle Buck (1989)

Even in his first foray into the family comedy, Hughes just couldn't escape the trappings of teen angst. Uncle Buck (John Candy) is a happy-go-lucky guy, as are two of the three kids in his care. One holdout remains: 15-year-old Tia (Jean Kelly), who resents her parents. A progression from Hughes' prior characters, Tia learns to cope with her parents far more easily than the teens of Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club.
