3. Flashdance (1983)

Wrong side of the tracks? Manual labor? Check. But as Alex Owens, a welder with dreams of being a dancer, Jennifer Beals is in the Cinderella top three not because she fulfills the expectations of a formula. Even though there is a handsome man involved, the real triumph in Flashdance, isn't about being catching a prince -- it's about being recognized for hard work and talent.
