The Time Machine (1960)
The Plot: A scientist (Rod Taylor) invents a time machine and travels to the far future of the year 802,701 where humanity has separated into two distinct species: The decadent-but-decaying Eloi and the bestial Morlocks.
Cool Use of Time Travel: Watching the ever-increasing sunrises and sunsets brings home the wonders of time travel. Watching a Morlock turn to dust as he hangs on to the machine is fun, too.
Why It Makes the List: The story by H.G. Wells (on which it is based) is the granddaddy of time travel stories. Show some respect!
