How Was Tribeca??
I'm out of town during the festival, but I wish i could be there. I love how you can "celebrity-watch" just by walking down the street when everyone is out in the evening. Has anyone gone to premieres? Seen celebs? Been at the parties?
Let me live vicariously through you!

Hey dizzy, I too was unable to attend any of the festival. I was still so shocked to see Baby Mama opening it though! Talk about Celebrity watching....
I've mentioned this before, but I'm always a little disappointed to see film festivals turn into Hollywood showcases. Yeah, I'm interested in seeing Speed Racer, but does it really need to bookend a festival that's meant to shine the spotlight on independent filmmakers? I guess I'm just ranting a little bit, but I know that Tribeca this year was trying to clean up its act after a disappointing year last year.
What do you think? Did they succeed?
The one Tribeca film that I was able to see was Paraiso Travel, which is really one of the more remarkable immigration stories I've seen in a long time. It really takes a hard look at the preconceptions both Americans and immigrants have about the issue, and does its best to break them. I predict the film's director, Simon Brand, will have a long career after this.
