The Newsdesk 06.02.09 - Where's Waldo? Coming to Theaters; Transformers 2 to Top Spidey?

• Tony Scott (Taking of Pelham 123) confirmed that an Alien prequel is in the works. Scott claimed that commercial director Carl Rinsch will helm, squelching rumors that Ridley Scott would return to the franchise.

• Studio pundits are predicting a $160-175m opening weekend for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. This would put it ahead of the $152m take Spider-Man 2 earned on the same weekend in 2004. Now if only Spidey would team up with Optimus Prime.

• The popular Where's Waldo? books are coming to the big screen courtesy of Universal Studios. Will you need special 3D glasses to find Waldo in your theater?

• The first photo of Sam Worthington in Clash of the Titans has been released. If you think Louis Leterrier's remake will be 300 meets Ray Harryhausen, well, you'd be right.

• Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will star in Caught in the Crossfire, a police drama that sadly has nothing to do with the classic Stevie Ray Vaughn tune of the same name.

• Alyssa Milano has committed to the romantic comedy My Girlfriend's Boyfriend. Milano will star and produce in her first big screen lead since Double Dragon: The Movie. It's 1994 all over again!
