George Lucas Gives AMC News a Tour of the New School of Cinematic Arts at USC
Joking that USC is now "officially a legitimate school," George Lucas was on hand at the opening of the new School of Cinematic Arts he helped finance. He gave me and a group of other reporters a guided tour through the new facility, and during the tour Lucas shared his contributions to the architectural design and compared the technology inside to what's he's got at LucasFilm. I made sure to stick that AMC News mic in there and get up close and personal with the Star Wars creator. It was a pretty epic experience. Also on the scene was a fedora-ed Steven Spielberg (his partner in the project) who noted that at least one SCA alumnus has been nominated for an Oscar every year since 1973.
