Football Legend Jim McMahon's Top Ten Favorite Movies
Remember 1985? The Chicago Bears won the Super Bowl led by "the punky QB known as McMahon." (So go the lyrics of "The Super Bowl Shuffle.") Retired since 1996, McMahon sports two Super Bowl rings and has a spot in the College Football Hall of Fame. As you'd expect from a champ of this caliber, the fighting instinct comes across in his favorite movie picks, too. McMahon's top ten in no particular order.
1. Scarface (1983)
2. Dirty Harry (1971)
3. Trading Places (1983)
4. Jaws (1975)
5. Fletch (1985)
6. Tombstone (1993)
7. The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)
8. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
9. Dumb and Dumber (1994)
10. North Dallas Forty (1979)
If you're wondering about the comedies, consider this. Besides his trademark shades, McMahon once had a thing for headbands, which sometimes got him into trouble with the NFL -- Commissioner Pete Rozelle once fined the QB for wearing one with an unauthorized coporate logo. McMahon's respose? Wear one that said "Rozelle" the next week. It's no wonder then that McMahon's picks gravitate toward movies with maverick heroes like Scarface, Dirty Harry and Fletch.
