Terminator 2 - I'll be back... again and again

Hey guys -

This is Evan, the die-hard fan from the Terminator 2 "Cinemania" episode.

It seems like no matter the place or time, whenever T2 comes on, I always have to watch it through the end. This movie has it all: incredible action, huge starpower, broader themes and some of the most revolutionary special effects from way back in 1991.

My favorite scene was the galleria and first meeting between Arnold and the T-1000. Up to that point the film is a race to John Connor, then a race to Sarah Connor and then a chase with the T-1000 in pursuit.

The episode was a blast to film. Some of the things I found out about the effects blew my mind!! When T-1000 froze in liquid nitrogen and his leg broke... they used an amputee! There are a million stories like that.

Hope you enjoyed the trivia question. What you may not know is that the 3rd deciding question was actually the 9th because Sufe and I kept knowing and not knowing the same information. Who knew?

What about T2 sticks out to you?

Evan,

My favorite scene had to be when the T-1000 unfreezes and gels back together. Such a cool way of showing just how unstoppable he is. I swear I've never looked at liquid mercurty the same way since.

What are some of the other interesting details you learned?

Hello there, I am one of the greatest fans of Terminator! My favorite part of the T2 movie was when the T-101 had to self Terminate into the molten metal and gave a thumbs up, meaning every thing is going to be all right. I think T2 was better then the first and the third one. I cant wait to see it another time again! O ya the T-1000 had great graphics for 1991. If you think about it, The T-1000 was more advaced then the TX from the third because he was made fully out of liquid metal and does not have a ectoskeleton holding the liquid metal up. Thanks for letting me write my comment!

I gotta also give it up to linda hamilton for getting in shape for that role. Without her there would be no angelina jolie / lara croft movies. She was pretty much out of pescadero until John and the Terminator met up with her.

I thought T2 was a great movie. That and part one are my faves. Part 3 wasnt bad it was just too different. They definately needed to return the Sarah and her son! although the John conner hottie and claire danes did better than I thought. Anyways, I guess what stuck out about part 2 for me was the more defined storyline there was more going on in this film then in the first one. Now the terminator is not the enemy, the son enters the picture along with the tougher less naive sarah conner, all the special effects, the bond that develops between the characters, etc. Another thing the acting was well done. I got to hand it to Linda Hamilton and her ability to evolve her character. She went from this pretty naive young 80's waitress to this hardened no bs female soldier. I also liked Edward Furlong alot in the movie. I used to have a crush on him when I was waaay younger. He has a uniqueness to him on screen. This sarcastic sharp sly sort of sense. He brought a lot to this role and always does fairly well in his movies.( i.e. american history X, pet sematary 2, brainscan, detroit rock city,...) Last I heard, he was arrested for trying to steal lobsters out of some grocery store tank. He was supposed to do part 3. Its really a shame he fell to drugs because he could of made a killing and continued doing well for himself. Overall, great movie. Now I want to watch it so bad. In fact, it is an AMC so AMC needs to play T-3 now.

I think it's what Aliceinhorrorland said: the characters were more evolved in this one. You really felt like they had a third dimension. Rather than this mindless killing machine, Arnold really gave the T-101 a personality. And the ice-cold Robert Patrick was more than walking death--he was walking fear.
