Jaws... My Favorite Movie

I am very pleased to say that AMC will be playing The entire Jaws series twice on Independence Day. The first one has for twenty years been on no.1 on my top 20 favorite movies list. It's a great film that I would highly recommend.

The greatest thing about Jaws is that it was made over 20 years ago without the benefit of modern special effects, production was hampered from day one, and still, despite myriad efforts, Hollywood has yet to reproduce the magic of the film. Deep Blue Sea, Open Water, no matter how hard they try, they just can't reproduce Spielberg's magic. I think people should remember that when they rip on Indy 4, and War of the Worlds for that matter.

We represent the Los Angeles United Film Festival and we are embarking on our third annual event being held at the historic Los Feliz 3 Cinemas on April 30th – May 7th. The festival's focus is to bring together talented filmmakers from diverse backgrounds, thus creating a "United" showcase of creative energy and talent.

In our line-up this year is feature documentary, "The Shark is Still Working" which focuses on the many ways Jaws continues to intrigue, thrill and frighten viewers. We also have 20 other amazing films and you can read more about them all below.

Screenwriter Carl Gottlieb & Production Designer Joe Alves will be in attendance. Plus Legendary Makeup Effects Artist Gregory Nicotero will be bringing an actual Jaws head to the screenings.
