4. Cape Fear - Martin Scorsese adeptly cast Robert De Niro (who's terrifying) in this remake about an ex-con who sets out to terrorize the D.A. who put him away.

3. Munich - Eric Bana stars in this film based on Israel's secret revenge mission following the massacre of eleven Israeli Olympic athletes at the hands of terrorists.

2. The Godfather - Revenge is par for the course in mob films, but it's especially bloody and memorable in the hands of Al Pacino's cold-blooded Michael Corleone.

1. Gladiator - Russell Crowe is hell-bent on slaying the emperor (Joaquin Phoenix) to avenge his murdered family. There's no better site for revenge than the Colosseum.
