Forrest the Sicko? Gump the Gangsta? New Trailers Reimagine the Iconic Character

Movie trailers can tell you a lot about a picture: The heroes, the villains, the conflicts. But they can also be misleading. Ever wonder what the trailer would look like for Forrest Gump... the gangsta movie? How about Forrest Gump as a serial stalker? AMC is curious too, and that's why we've cut together scenes from the movie into all-new trailers you definitely didn't see in theaters.

I believe this trailer is idiotic and highly offensive. It perpetutates a stereotype about minorities in general and African Americans in particular. Said stereotypes depict our youth as troubled savages all struggling to overcome an irresistible urge to be violent. Further it suggests that the only way to overcome said urge and go on to be successful is via sports. Said stereotype is the direct result of narrow minded individuals plagued with a superiority complex.


The dicitionary defines gangsters as organized; highly sophisticated criminals. If ever there were a group of individuals who fit said description, it certainly would not be troubled youth [AfricanAmerican or not] lashing out as a result of being misinformed, misguided, and the victims of a system designed to ensure that they indeed stay that way .

Rather it would be a group of individuals whose entire existence has been defined by racism, hatred, violence, theft, and discrimination against others. A group of people who find it conceivable to own others as property. A group of people who find it conceivable to rape women, create children with them, and sell the children as property. A group whose since its creation has been plaged with a superiority complex that the world has yet to see any arguable justification for.

The next time amc wants to create a trailer that depicts what "gangster" is. Perhaps, it should look to the history of said people. Then it would create a trailer based upon historical accuracy as opposed to idiotic stereotypes.

I will no longer watch this station.

If AMC thinks playing Forrest Gump is doing me a favor I just wnat them to know I am canceling my subscription to this channel. Not only do we have to put up with endless commercials during the programs, now they run the same movie for a week because they have run out of ideas. Good luck with that!

I am not sure what you are trying to do with this. You cannot go wrong with forrest gump. One of the best movies ever made. I would not mess with it at all. TV Shows Online
