Opening Night - The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 Gets Denzel Washington Back on the Subway

Last week, Westwood Village in L.A. was turned into an MTA New York City Transit subway station. Not kidding. See the pictures here. It was for the premiere of The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 in which Denzel Washington plays an NYC MTA employee faced with a John Travolta-led subway standoff. The film made me really think about how important each and every municipal and transit worker is to making cities operate in New York and around the world.

Some of the tweets sent to me via the AMC News Twitter account when I was there included queries about what would happen if the NYC subways really did have red carpet on the floor.
