Although audiences might better recognize Samuel L. Jackson from his work in big budget blockbusters like Star Wars: Episode I and Iron Man, Jackson’s career history includes stints in the theater and a number of acclaimed Spike Lee movies. (The Cannes Film Festival once created a special awards category for him based on his performance in Jungle Fever.) These tidbits and more were among the talking points at the American Cinematheque tribute for the actor, a special event that drew out friends and co-stars like Sharon Stone, George Lopez and Al Pacino.
