Has your favorite movie been bunnified? Find out at Angry Alien Productions, home of The 30-Second Bunnies Theatre Troupe; a group of bunnies that re-enact feature films in just 30 seconds, with the help of animator Jennifer Shiman.

In early 2004, Shiman says she "began to experiment with developing humorous serial content related to films, in the hopes of finding a sponsor and becoming an online humor columnist of sorts." As it turns out, that's exactly what happened. "I made The Exorcist bunnies, posted the results on my website and was completely surprised by the positive response I got." Soon, the Titanic bunnies aired on Good Morning America and before the year was over Starz Entertainment Group commissioned re-enactments of Freddy vs. Jason, Scream and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for their Hare-Raising Halloween Marathon. Shiman's been mixing bunnies and classic movie moments in this Flash cartoon series ever since.

It's the perfect job for someone with fond memories of "Saturday mornings parked in front of the TV with pencil and paper and bowl of cereal, watching and drawing along to shows such as Bugs Bunny and Friends, Superfriends, Land of the Lost, Laff-O-Lympics, etc." With the exception of the voices, she makes each episode herself and it takes about a month to complete each one. "The greatest feedback I get is when viewers say that watching a bunny short made them feel good or made their day a little better," she says. "Adding some levity to life is the main purpose of the bunnies' work." The website currently gets 12,000 to 15,000 unique visits a day.

Has she ever met anyone that worked on a movie she's bunnified? "Once, Starz arranged for me to meet Richard O'Brien, creative force behind The Rocky Horror Picture Show, at a press event, and we watched Rocky Horror Picture Show bunnies together," she says. "That was a huge moment for me (and the bunnies), and I was very delighted he enjoyed it!"

The creatures she created have quickly taken on a life of their own. "The bunnies frequently squabble over who gave the best performance," she jokes. It'll be interesting to see how they behave when they attend the 2008 Webby Awards next week in New York and accept their awards for the Bun-O-Vision Brokeback Mountain.
