Talk Forum: What You're Saying

The John Wayne DVD contest is over (cmaxwell, who nominated Rooster Cogburn as the Duke's best, won the random drawing), but the conversation continues. Patricia says, "I feel that one of his best is The Three Godfathers and, though it is at times almost painful to watch, The Searchers. It is said that was his least liked movie to do. You can see the sheer pain on his face for what he was determined to do that took years to find his niece." The forum also heard from 1STSARGEANT, who said, "The Duke's greatest movie has to be his last, The Shootist. Not because I had a bit part in it while I was going to high school, but because if you think about him while you are watching the movie, you'll see his entire career rolled into the part."

Speaking of cowboys, DoubleBubble was busy on the forum praising AMC's Saturday morning lineup. "I hope that AMC NEVER stops the great old westerns that they show on Saturday mornings," the post said. "My fave of all time is Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. I also like Stagecoach and Follow The River a lot."
