New Sinatra Pic: From the Valet's P.O.V.

Mrs Fans of Frank Sinatra movies are going to love this. Remember when his trusted valet George Jacob published his memoir, Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra?  When I saw this man on Today, I thought, what a sweet guy; he probably will give Sinatra the respect he deserves. Yet Jacob didn't pull punches: Entertainment Weekly called the tome "a loving poison pen memoir, full of the Chairman's bad behavior but still laced with the milk of human kindness."

So today, Variety is reporting that director Brett Ratner is teaming up with actor Chris Tucker to make the New Line film in which Tucker will play the valet. Jacobs' co-writer, William "Stadiem, a longtime chronicler of old Hollywood, has been tapped to write the screenplay, which weaves in celebrity anecdotes involving Marilyn Monroe, Peter Lawford, the Kennedys, Ava Gardner, Humphrey Bogart, Mia Farrow, Elvis Presley, Swifty Lazar and Marlene Dietrich, among others."  I'm not the biggest fan of Ratner, but this one will be good -- I can feel it. I can't wait to see how they deal with Sinatra's old movies. (Full disclosure: HarperCollins, who published Jacob's book, is my publisher, too).
