Anchor Bay Picks Up Mischa Barton Thriller

mischa.jpgToday, Variety is reporting that Anchor Bay Entertainment has picked up the Mischa Barton thriller, Walled In. The movie, filmed in Regina, Saskatchewan, saw Barton brave minus-25 degree weather, according to the Regina Leader Post. Barton's first leading role has her playing "Sam, a demolition expert overseeing the destruction of a building inhabited by souls of people buried in the walls by the structure's architect," says the newspaper. "Not normally an avid fan of scary movies (though she admits to enjoying psychological thrillers like The Silence of the Lambs), Barton was drawn to the role because of the 'the smartly written script' which was adapted to the screen by French director Gilles Paquet-Brenner."

Barton seems to be making a niche for herself in horror: Her next movie is Morgan J. Freeman's Homecoming, which the director recently told me is partially inspired by Stephen King's Misery.
