Fear Friday: A Ghost, a Puppet and a Werewolf
If you're yearning for your weekly cornucopia of horror, Fear Friday is ready to trot out an evil ghost, a weird ventriloquist's dummy, and a mysterious werewolf right into your livingroom. While Poltergeist 2: The Other Side (11 p.m. EST) isn't as frightening as the original, its central 19th-century religious cult at least stands the test of time in terms of creepiness. But ultimately, you're better off staying up a bit later for Magic (1 a.m.) starring Anthony Hopkins as a tormented ventriloquist with an eerie dummy. Should you last until the wee hours, the 3:15 a.m. broadcast of The Beast Must Die pairs the great Peter Cushing with Calvin Lockhart as two men out to discover the identity of a werewolf on a country estate.
