Oh, Snap: Depp As Sweeney Todd Poster

Depp Folks, I don't have much to say about this -- except: THIS SWEENEY TODD POSTER IS UTTERLY AMAZING.  Johnny Depp is going to be great as Sweeney as is the movie. Thanks, Cinematical for making my day.

See, my greatest theater experience ever was at Sweeney Todd on Broadway last year.  Ever since I co-wrote a book about serial killers, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street has held a special place in my heart.  I had shivers throughout the performance.  I cried, too.

I'm not sure anything could top my third row center seat to see a play where the actors sang and played their own instruments as they acted. Plus, it starred Patti Lupone, Michael Cerveris and the amazing Lauren Molina as the creepy, sad Johanna. But with Depp as the lead, I ask you, is there any other horror movie I need to see this year?

That. Is. Awesome.

If I was not already excited about this movie, I would be now.

Your experience at the theater for Sweeney Todd sounds like my own at the the theater for Xanadu! Tears of pleasure! Pleasure tears!

Not a very good release date, but hey... I'm a huge Tim Burton mark, so I'll definitely go see it. It will provide a good relaxing time after having spent the Holidays with the family.

By the way, another movie you should be excited for drops the week of Thanksgiving in the form of Frank Darabont's: The Mist. Adapted from the Stephen King novel and it stars The Punisher himself, Thomas Jane (great actor, huge horror fan).

--A freak storm unleashes a species of blood-thirsty creatures on a small town, where a small band of citizens hole-up in a supermarket and fight for their lives.

2007 may have started out very blah, but it seems as though it's going to end with a bang!

thanks, malice. i'll definitely check out The Mist when it drops. i'm a king fan - even loved his book on the process of writing fiction.
