This was great - but I wish you'd given me more of the character designer guy.

Too bad about burning the left side of your face on those flaming letters, dude. The letters were hot...Seriously, enjoyed the behind the scenes clips/interviews. Make-up effects was the fav. Will hold off on posting a bit, but will keep reading. Would enjoy hearing about marketing/pr behind the scenes and set locations that are actually more natural states (if any). Keep up the good reviews. Keep soarin'!

Another great episode, guys. If I'm not mistaken, isn't Tommy Castillo's "The Fourth Horsemen" comic being released by the new Fangoria Comics? That's awesome. Fango isn't what it used to be, but I am looking forward to the new line of comics.

By the way, Todd... About this "Horror Host" (which Castillo's art looked amazing) will it ever come to be? Or was it just a way to introduce the artistry of Tommy Castillo?

I believe we all had this discussion a few weeks ago about how AMC should bring back the old days of horror when films had the presence of a great, well, Horror Host.

Regardless, it was still another great Horror Department episode.

P.S.

Still waiting to know what the "Day in the Life of The Horror Department" is like. It seems like a great gig. Much respect!

Forgot to mention re: lingo that I don't own a La-Z-boy recliner. Just a few goatlings. Let us know if you hear of any movies in the works based on books by author Joyce Carol Oates (ex.Gravediggers Daughter) Regarding future blog videos~ any behind the scenes looks at computer graphic effects would be cool or author/director/screenwriter interviews. Interesting new site features. Good job!CAWesome!(& I'm not even on the payroll.)

Cawsome indeed, AX, thanks for the suggestions and the kind words. If my witch's intuition tells me anything, it's that some of your predictions re: guest types are coming true in the very near future. Sooner than you think, mortal (this very Friday-ish)

Oh, Malice, you are ever in tune, ever aligned as it were with the beating pulse of Monsterfest. Mr. Castillo's comic is indeed part of Fangoria's new EC-like line of Horrics, and we'll be doing a feature on the whole line super-sooner than you think, mortal (this very Wednesday-ish).

As for the Horror Host...stay tuned.

Great idea Malice, a horror host would be cool. I'f love to hear "The Toddster's" comments on Brain Eaters and the other serialized stuff here. That would be a bonus for sure. Can't call him "The Toddster" though. How 'bout Mr. Moribund or Momento Morris or Grisly Addams or Señor Winces or something like that.

Moses brings up a good point. What would be a great Horror Host name? If the romance people got a host and called him "The Dandy" as Cyril suggested... now, I don't know much, but this much I do know. Whatever actor got that hosting role, I'm pretty sure he would get beat up on the streets.

Todd as the host from hell? That would be super, but one thing would have to change. No multiple showing's of "Pinata: Survival Island" or "Child's Play". Actually, no showing's of Pinata would be wise. Not even the legendary hosts could make that film watchable.

i like yall's ideas about the horror host. ive been wanting fear friday to get a horror host for a while. hmmm... as for names that would take me a while to think. heres an idea sign on bruce campbell as the horror host. i also agree we need less showings of pinata: survival island, or actually no showings. but child's play needs less showings. what happened to friday the 13th 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 those are great and so was the lost boys when we had it. well ill get back on subject to the horror host, either way we really need one or better yet get a good lookin mortica like horror hostess. well i also see we have the fog and the howling coming soon, thats good we need more stuff like this. well i keep thinking on more horror host name ideas.

I totally forgot about this documentary based on the Horror Hosts of the past and what they are up to now, but if you go to www.AmericanScary.com you can see a trailer for it. I hope this gets a DVD release or even a TV spot.

When Todd mentions the long tradition of the Horror Host, he wasn't kidding.

Here's to a possible revival!

So, whatever happened to Dr. Paul Bearer? My Fav!

Whichever name you choose, should he/she/it have a title? Dr., Sir, Corporal, Count? Its almost mandatory!

i like that idea, todd ravenface the host from hell. its perfect, todd has the perfect name, RAVENface the raven, one of the most famous horror storys ever. look at it this way we could have bob smith the horror host, or todd ravenface, (ha ha) or we could name him the dandy. i hope this horror host/hostess happens by monsterfest cause im looking foward to the howling this friday (first new movie to come on fear friday since friday the 13th pt 3 in 3d) but it would be so much better with a horror host. and also next friday the 13th we need parts 1-6.
