On the event of the DVD release of The Monster Squad, director Fred Dekker is now talking sequel. As a fan of Night of the Creeps, it's good news.

Monster Squad 2? Hey, I would be up for that, but something tells me the time for that has come and gone.
There is something very possible in the Monster Squad universe and frankly, it scares me to think about it - re*ake!
Another unwanted rema*e seems likely to happen for another cult classic film. I guess I would see it, but it would hurt a little bit to do so. Besides, a Part II now? It just wouldn't be the same without the cast from the original. And obviously, considering their age, that probably wouldn't work out too well.
Then again, you could always use Stephen King's IT formula... where they fought the good fight as kids and then reunite as adults to put evil to rest for good. Let me think for a second. Yeah! I would pay to see a Monster Squad reunion on the big screen.
I just read the entire interview with Fred Dekker and don't I feel like a fool now. I guess you should read the interviews before making comments... Using that whole Monster Squad grown up idea is pure genius on Dekker's part. Hope it gets made, but something tells me it never will.
