default userpic

yay, what a great contest! those are the Legacy collections of the Wolf Man, Frankenstein, etc. Plus a great way to watch camp classics? how great is this? Thanks AMC!

default userpic

This is great wow AMC you really have changed a lot within the last two years thanks a lot for listening to the viewers and make us feel part of Monsterfest.

default userpic

Most contests you see going around the 'net are for bad films like "Pulse" and "The Hitcher". But I have to give AMC a lot of credit for this contest. "AMC Classic Monsters" DVD Set contest? WOW!! This is how you get real horror fans excited.

Hi, thanks for your comments. I work here on the blog. We'll keep trying. And we welcome your ideas for new stuff...

Hey Guys! How about having a "horror host" to go with say, "Classic Horrors" on a Friday or Saturday nite? I can still recall "Creature Features" on Ch. 5....

default userpic

I wish you would have a weekend or evena week of old movies. like ones with W.C.Feilds ,Mea WEst, the Bowery Boys. That would be great and alot of fun to see again. Boris Carloft,Lon Channy these would also be great to watch again.

default userpic

Love all those old movies keep them coming

default userpic

Love the horror and sci-fi classics from the 50's and 60's. Can you show them during the 8-11 pm time slot on some nights? I work during the day and can't stay up until 3 am to see some of them.

Thanks in advance.

David

I always enjoy the movies on AMC - especially the classic horror and monster films. I'm looking forward to October's Monster Fest! Of course, anytime is a good time for monster movies.

Keep up the great work.

I remember a few years back when I would wait for October for the Monsterfest! They need more movies like these, the b&w films that really gave the monster movie it's start. There is no contest for true classic horror/monster fans!!

what up

default userpic

I think it's fantastic that monster movies get the attention from good folks like us. I agree that every season is a monster movie season, but Fall is just so perfect for monster movies. Cool (and cold) nights, wind, falling leaves, pumpkins, cornstalks, early evenings - it's all so perfect for many, many nights of horror movie viewing, especially the old Universal stuff. Keep up the excellent work. Glad to be among such excellent fans!

default userpic

I LOVE HORROR MOVIES SO MUCH I COULD WATCH THEM ALL DAY

default userpic

October 2006 movie lineup was awesome. I could not wait to come in from work every day. I was reaching for the remote before I could even put my keys down to see what monster movie was being shown. I was glued to the tv every single evening until I fell asleep. AND I wasn't cut off cold turkey on November 1 just because Halloween was over. Hope it is as good this year as last. Thanks.

default userpic

horror movies are my most favorite thing to watch

default userpic

i LOVE horror movies like the rest of yall too, its my favorite thing to do. i think monsterfest needs more classics and more movies. most of fear fridays are repeats i love the movies but dont want to watch them too much. heres a day or two for monsterfest camp classics! l looked into the july and august schedule and saw that amc is playing the day the world ended and blood of dracula, thats good show them with earth vs the spider, the brain eaters, how to make a monster, horror of party beach, and frankenstein meets the space monster. it would be a day of the classics!!!!!!!! show the from around 5-11 pm. i usually have things to do during the day and my vhs tapes that i record on will probably all be full from the first few days of monsterfest.

I really love the old monster movies before high tech

default userpic

They DON'T make Classic Movies like these Oldie Goldies like the Good Ole Days!

default userpic

horror movies are my favorite, especially the older ones. it also is something special that your not waiting until halloween to show them.

default userpic

Is there ever going to be a commercial free Horror Channel?

default userpic

I remember how these old monster movies used to scare the pants off of me. I watched them with my older brother who always ran ahead of me to be the first one out of the den, because the last one in the den was the one who was elected to turn off all of the lights.

default userpic

Monsterfest is great and if you need a host, Bruce "Ash" Campbell or Linda Hamilton are my favorites. Also, I remember a flick from either the 50's or 60's that had invisible creatures that would make a heartbeat type of sound and then would jump on to their victims and suck their brains out. Don't remember the name of the movie, but it would be cool if you good folks would find it and show it. Nuff said. ;)

default userpic

Please please please show Roger Corman's original "Not of This Earth" with Paul Birch. The 1957 version hasn't been available until recently and all the big budget remakes are 2nd class on the campy meter.

Thanks

In response to Robert Leitch. "Fiend Without

A Face" is probably the movie you are looking for. Later in the movie they become visible and look like brains with a tail.

Pretty cool when they get killed.

default userpic

AAAAAaaaaahhhhhrrrrggg!!! Please, keep it up!

default userpic

I remember growing up and every Saturday my dad and I watched these classic old horrors. I loved the time with him, and I still love these movies. Great choice, there are lots of people looking forward to seeing them I am sure.I appreciate you showing them, I will call my dad and have him watch too.

My top 10 Saturday afternoon Horror films in no particular orderand for no particular reason other than I really liked them.

10. Black Sabbath 1963

Directed by Mario Bava featuring Boris Karloff. Three stories A Drop of Water about revenge from beyond the grave (Very Effective In a Theater) The Telephone and The Werdalac a Vampire tale with Karloff

9 Theater of Blood

Vincent Price 1970 Price plays a Shakespearian Actor who does away with a Theater Critics Circle by way of "The Bard"

8 Island Of Terror

Peter Cushing cutoff from the mainland an island is ravaged by bone eating monsters

7 The Night Of The Living Dead 1967

Directed by George Romero Black and White the one film that actually gave me nightmares tame by today's standards but in late 69 in the creepy old Grand Theater in downtown Santa Ana I blew me away

6 Tales From The Crypt

A series of tales of Murder and supernatural revenge one memorable piece as a wife who releves herself from her husband the hard way one snowy christmas eve only to be stalked herself by a murderous madman in a Santa suit

The Kitchen scene is good for a scare!

5 Dracula has Risen From The Grave

Of all of Christopher Lee's Dracula Films this is my personal Favorite The plot predictable but I had a major crush on Veronica Carlson, The Count's "Main Course" in the Hammer Vampire opus

6 The Bride Of Frankenstin

I love the idea of Elsa Lanchster as Mary Shelly and the Bride

5 The Night Stalker

Darren McGavins, Carl Kolchak is iconic the mater of fact narration- the cheesey suit and hat- I just love this film

4 The Fog

Director John Carpenter's followup to his hit Halloween I love this movie if only for the John Houseman bit with the pocket watch in the begining of the film and one of Carpenter and Dan Wymans best electronic scores

3 Innocent Blood

John Landis story of mafia Vampires in Pittsburg what more need's to be said!

2 The Brain That Wouldn't Die!

Years before Katie Couric, Actress Virginia Leith was the original Talking head in this wonderfully wierd film. It's the same old story, doctor loses girl-doctor tries to put girls head on an other hot body monster in the locked closet movie

1 The Abominable Dr Phibes

Vincents Price's 100th film Musician Dr Anton Phibes takes revenge on the doctors and Nurse's he believes responsable for his wife's death using a score of Old Testament treatments to meet out his revenge!

Honorable mentions that didn't make the top ten but I love just the same "The Lost Boys" "Near Dark" "Zombie""The Brood" "Rabid" "The Evil Dead Triligoy"

default userpic

I just love the classic monster movies. How cool to see them here!

default userpic

I love the old classic movies. I would love to see "The Raven" with Vincent Price and Jack Nicholson when he was first in acting. It is tongue in cheek but a great to spend an hour!

default userpic

Big Trouble In Little China. You got the flying Beholder covered with eyes, the 8-foot slobbering monster, the giant thing that lives in caves under Chinatown and snatches people, not to mention the 3000-year-old evil wizard that needs a new bride's blood to live again as a mortal.

Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 was great, but you can't beat the zombie skeleton crew of the first movie Pirates Of The Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. "You best start believing in ghost stories, you're in one!"

default userpic

The Originals! Frankenstein,(Boris Karlof)Dracula(Bel Lugosi!)The Wolfman(Lon Chaney)

default userpic

IT'S GREAT!!!!!!!

default userpic

Keep up the great work! I particularly love the old Hammer films, especially the ones with Christopher Lee as Dracula. Also, there was at least one film with a vampire hunter named Captain Kronos, I believe. Would love to see that one again. Thanks.

default userpic

I feel like a fog, not that it matters. I've pretty much been doing nothing , but eh. Today was a loss. I haven't gotten much done for a while.
