Join the Quote Game Volume 41
This edition of The Quote Game is initiated in honor of US Highway 41, which runs from Copper Harbor Michigan to Miami Florida. Along its route, it passes about six miles to the west of my location as it functions as "Stoplight Alley" on the east side of Evansville Indiana.
US Highway 41 was the location of the legendary bus stop/crop duster strafing scene in "North by Northwest:".
For all his legendary attention to detail, Hitch didn't catch the error his set decorator made in placing a rectangular Indiana State Highway 41 marker alongside the highway instead of a US Highway "shield" marker. A Greyhound bus from Chicago to Indianapolis, in the pre-Interstate 65 days, would have almost certainly run along US41 south out of Chicago until meeting US52 at Kentland Indiana. South of Kentland, US52 peels off to the southeast toward Lafayette and Indianapolis.
I've driven US41 from Evansville to Chicago many times. Except for the fact that the highway is now 4-lane divided and there are a lot of windmills in the fields around Kentland, the farm fields on either side of the highway are about as empty as they were for the California fields that Hitch used for the location shot.
MADDICTS' BUCKET LISTS
At the request of a few Maddicts (namely Tipsi, Mikey --and me!) I am inviting us all to post our Bucket Lists -- what we want to do before we buy the farm, start pushing up daisies, kick the proverbial you-know-what!
Mine is sort of short.......I've been to most of the places I want to visit already but there are still a few left. I'm still writing mine (not all my "to do's" to do yet involve travel) but I'll post it shortly.
Come on, Maddicts......what's left on your "page" that's not crossed off yet??
Season 5 Premiere Date?
I've seen several articles that indicate that Season 5 will premiere on March 16, but March 16 is a Friday. Does anyone know if Mad Men is moving to Fridays?
Don Draper's holiday shopping list?
What would Don have bought his family and friends for Christmas? Check out this blog post to find out! http://bit.ly/svHtec

Obessesion
I'm so obsessed with this show. I am consumed with madness for MadMen
Peggy's dance moves doing the twist>
What did Pete Campbell say to Peggy when she ask him to dance with her . It sure shook her up and I'm thinking it must have been quite an insult. Neither my husband nor I could understand what he said no matter how many times we rewound it . Can someone help us?
Fan interview
Hi everybody!
My name is Sara and I'm a student at the University of Antwerp in Belgium (that's in Europe by the way =) ). I have this course, Popular Culture, for which we have tot analyse a case of popular culture. And guess what I picked... Mad Men ofcourse! Although, I am thrilled to write a paper about one of my favourite shows, there is something I can't do on my own. You see, I have to interview a fan about Mad Men! This is where I turn to you guys! Is there someone who would like to help me with this?? You would really do me a huuuge favour!
Ofcourse, because of the circumstances, we could do the interview via skype. But not over a phonecall, just in the chat or whatever it's called. It wouldn't take long!
Please let me know if you're interested! I would be very grateful!
Sara
Join the Quote Game Volume 40
This edition of The Quote Game is initiated in honor of Super Bowl XL, which due to my brother's connections and eBay skills, I had the extraordinary good fortune to attend. The outcome was highly satisfactory for me at Steelers 21 Seahawks 10.
Maybe Mad Men will give us an episode at the Ice Bowl in Green Bay on 31 December 1967. Most of the SCDP employees would feel little effect from the -15F temperatures, given their normal alcohol intake.
Thank you...
...to my fellow maddicts for all your good wishes. Things are progressing very nicely but I miss having that red velvet cake, Z - sounds yummy. (The General topic seems to have slipped off the first page and I wanted to make sure you all would see my heartfelt thanks. You're the best!!!
Why Bertram Cooper must stay on Mad Men Season 5
Bert Cooper is the only man on the show with any scruples. He can cut through the BS with one
quip or look. Let's face it, just about every other male character and many of the female characters are despicable. We need someone to be a sort of moral touchstone. Besides that, Bert is so erudite and eccentric, and just plain fun to watch. Not to mention he's ROBERT MORSE, a legendary actor who should be given much more to do!
Westerns
ahh, I'm a list guy
Top 5 Westerns and why....
5. Unforgiven- Clint makes his comeback, reworks "The Man with no name"...new insights
4.Stagecoach-----John Ford invents the modern Western
3.Shane---George Stevens, the Grand Tetons a timeless story
2. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly---Clint Eastwood becomes a superstar, and an indelible character
1. The Searchers----John Wayne and John Ford achieve perfection of the genre......Wayne is incredible as Ethan Edwards and Ford's direction is flawless......
Season 4 of Mad Men
When can I count on seeing season 4 of Mad Men on Comcast?
A word about John Slattery and comedy
I like to believe, in moments of self-admiration, that I know something about actors and acting. Tell me if you agree or disagree with the following rather bold statement: John Slattery is the greatest articulator of the "throw away" line. . . evah! Example: "It's not Ann-Margaret."
If you agree, name some of your favorite Slattery throw-aways. If not, give examples of better. Thanks.
Merry Christmas, all

Joan's baby
I know we all are assuming Joan is pregnant with Roger's baby, but couldn't it be her husbands since they had mattress mambo the day he left for Nam?
