Mad Men & The Ed Sullivan Show
Mad Men and The Ed Sullivan Show have a lot in common. Mad Men coincides in an era when The Ed Sullivan Show was at its highest point. It was a fantastic era when families would get together in their living rooms to watch The Ed Sullivan Show every Sunday night. This kind of image was portrayed in the show. Throughout all the Mad Men seasons, the show made mention to and played the music of many popular acts that appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show including, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Sonny and Cher, and even the famous Kennedy impersonator Vaughn Meader in season 4. I would love to see Ed Sullivan get featured on this site, in any of their story lines or blog posts. I mean The Ed Sullivan Show played a huge role in 1960’s America, the period in which Mad Men is set. The Ed Sullivan website has featured Mad Men on their blog, talking about how both shows relate (http://goo.gl/T3DCO). I think it’s fair that Ed Sullivan gets featured on this site as well don’t you think?
