Here is what is missing from a description of Don's/Dick's background

There is a huge back in Don's background story. The flashbacks of Don's/Dick's life do not adequately explain how his experience as a used car and fur salesman gave him the creative, business, advertising and executive skills we see when he is in and/or conducting a meeting. The writers should cover this in another flashback.
