Season 1 Episode 4 piano song played by Glen
I've been wracking my brain as to which song Glen is playing on the piano when Betty enters the Bishop house. I would greatly appreciate the answer. It has been troubling me for nearly a week now.

Jon Hamm in "Bridesmaids"
I just watched a couple of trailers for the new movie, "Bridesmaids." Let me just say the scenes with Jon Hamm look hysterical. He is NOT lying quietly in bed staring out of a window. I can't wait to see the movie.

OMG - January is preggers!
January Jones is having her first baby this fall - has not announced who the father is at this time.
Is it STILL too early to start predictions? Part 2.
Now that the former needs more efffort to reach, let's move it up.....homage to Tipsi's original - anything goes in the subject area ....preferably to MM, but not absolutely. Just use your best judgement.

Defective Glue in Season 4 DVD Set?
While all of my discs are fine, two of the plastic trays in my season four DVD set have become unglued from the cardboard backing. The blame lies entirely on the four spots of glue intended to fuse the parts together. Did anyone else purchase a set which contained glue from that faulty batch?
(Also, I hate how the commentary tracks, for the first time, go beyond the length of the episodes, resulting in a black screen for as long as 25 second after the credit have rolled; it's particularly disruptive when you're watching the episodes without the commentary on [in other word, 99% of the time]!)
And why isn't the AMC logo appearing at the end of the episodes anymore? New management at Lionsgate refusing to give them any credit?

Matt Weiner - One of Time Magazine's Most Influential People
This is by Elisabeth Moss:
Matthew Weiner is no less than a genius. His influence on the world of television is unparalleled. He created a new standard for the drama series and then held that standard for his own show for four straight seasons. He is very demanding, probably most upon himself. But what I admire most in Matt, 45, is his personal integrity. He is a true artist, a seeker of truth. He has held up a mirror not only to a time period but to us and has demanded that we look at ourselves (whether beautiful or ugly, good or bad), look at our weaknesses and, most important, look at what makes us great. Essentially, what makes us human. Above all, he is a poet. He tells his stories with grace, humor, honesty and courage. He is the greatest boss a girl could have, but even more valuable than that, he is also the greatest friend.

Mikey doesn't want to continue to helm this. So here I am again. The boss.
Bye Bye Birdie
Watched this movie on demand at IFC. I had never seen it before but was struck by iconic themes and images in the movie that are paralleled in the show. Anyone seen it recently enough to remember? Janet Leigh's character was reminiscent of a less provocative Joan. She made an appearance in a chiffon baby doll nightie at one point, and I had a flashback to a very pregnant Trudy looking like a big wad of bubblegum in her own pink version.
What happened to my question?
Here we go again. I posted a question and it has disappeared after appearing for a while. At least I can't find it. How aggravating.
Do we want the "edit" button back
Post here if you want the edit button or the delete button back on this site. I think it's a shame it's been dumped in this last site "upgrade"

Matthew Weiner's goof-up on commentary
I was watching Chrysanthemum and the Sword and MW said David McCallum died recently. Meanwhile, DM is alive and well.
And I must also mention that it is extremely irritating that every time I change tabs and come back, everything I wrote is gone.
NORA PARADISO Had Jon Hamm 15 feet away from her last night!
Yes, folks, there he was with his thick black mustache and beard, a dark blue leather cap, black shirt and dark blue jacket over shirt, black belt and grey cotton pants, black shoes.
It was a staged reading so the 13 actors filed in. Jon was the eighth one in and the only one to stop for a moment and look at the audience as he made his entrance. They all sat in their respective chairs and when it was time for Jon Hamm who played Colonel Vershinin to go up to the microphone, he blushed, until he got into the well suited role of the "Love Sick Major". Always with a light hearted sense of humor, Jon made his character rich and inviting. I really enjoyed him.
Oh yes the other actors were great too.
What made my evening more than anything was the exchange with Masha played by Jennifer Westfeldt (his long time real girlfriend). He tells her, "I love you, I love you" with real meaning! I finally was able to see Jon really in love!!!

At the risk of preempting wasthere's prerogative in managing the successive chapters of The Quote Game, I observe that the board may have finally re-activated the ability to start a new topic. So, we'll see if it works.
Good grief, I've HAD it with this site!
After trying to sign on for a couple of days, I have come to the conclusion that total incompetents are running this site! I was all signed in with my password (after untold frustration a few days back), and my screen name of AnnMarie (a name I've have forever). Now, I just spent another half-hour trying to get BACK in after AMC tells me that I am entering the wrong password, email address, etc., and that the password has failed. I give up!
Is it too early to start predictions?
Anything goes! Predictions for story lines, characters, SCDP....
I'm Optimistic About the Future of Mad Men.
I have not been optimistic about the future of Mad Men since the Season 4 finale. It seemed to me that the story was complete. However, now that Matt Weiner has stated that he knows how he will end his story, and has a well defined time frame in which to do it, I am very encouraged about the future of Mad Men.
How about mad men's renewal!

Making us wait till March 2012???
The usual 6 month wait is painfully frustrating as it is, but a year & 1/2? & to say it's not about the money? It's always about the money.. Give us a little credit why don't you? Wow on both counts.
