Which bands do you think will be featured in season 4?
Firstly, I have to say that the musical selections for the first three seasons have been commendable; I don't consider myself to be a big fan of music from the 1960s, but the creators of the show have done an excellent job showcasing both popular and obscure cuts from that decade, which have almost always worked very well within the context of the particular episode that they were in.
With that said, what do you think we're going to be hearing this summer during season 4? I'm going to guess that it begins in 1965. Since there were some early proto-punk bands forming around this time, I've included some on my list. I do hope the creators of the show opt to put some louder stuff this season, in order to reflect the musical changes happening around the mid-60s. Anyhow, my list of predictions:
The Sonics - "Keep a Knockin'" (1964)
The Knickerbockers - "Lies" (1965)
The Yardbirds - "I Wish You Would" (1965)
The Beatles - "Mr. Moonlight" (1964)
The Who - "The Kids Are Alright" (1965)
The Rolling Stones - "Play with Fire" (1965)
The Byrds - "We'll Meet Again" (1965)
The Beach Boys - "In the Back of My Mind" (1965)
The Kinks - "Till the End of the Day" (1965)
The Animals - "Around and Around" (1965)

"Lies" could be intriguing - I wonder if Mr Weiner has ever written an episode with a particular song in mind?
P.S. last season I found myself looking forward to the credits more and more - each song seemed to compliment the episode so perfectly - as if it were written for MM.
I think The Stones , " Play With Fire " would be a good one for Don's divorce . He surely is'nt giving Betty up that easy .I think they will play with each other for awhile .

Yowsa, what a list, Peaches!
Hi-Heel Sneakers! What a song!
Also, love me some Dusty! Just went over to YouTube and listened/watched her sing "I Only Want To Be With You" ~~~ what a voice!
I hope we get some of her, The Beatles, Searchers, Ventures (Walk Don't Run), and Chad and Jeremy (A Summer Song)...what harmonies they had! (....and when the raaaaain.... beats against my window pane...... I'll think of summer days again.....and dream of you.....and dream of you..." gorgeous!)
Also agree about the Dave Clark 5....underrated IMO.....also Ricky Nelson.
What a great list--there are several of my favorites on there. I guess it depends on the story line--I'd agree about Dusty Springfield and the Beatles as great picks--anything but Roger Miller; I just don't see his songs as a fit...I think the songs they picked for Season 1 were still the best!
Previously, I meant to say that they were the best songs as a fit for each episode--not that they were any better than what we may hear this season--I loved the mid-sixties' songs!
I'm with you Peaches, we haven't heard Dean Martin in three seasons. I am still waiting for MW end at least one episode with Dino's #6 - "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime". Maybe Henry Francis and Betty will take a side trip from Reno to Vegas to see the Rat Pack perform? Those guys knew how to party. Cheers.
Over-dramatic and makes her sound more like a lady of the night more than anything else. The creativity of taking thee character somewhere new is there, but thats about it.Dog Crates
